I love this coffee. It is bold with no after taste. I highly praise these new Amazon single origin coffees, and have tried all three (Sumatra, Nicaraguan and Peruvian), and I love them all for their delicious differences. . However, the four stars above would be five stars or more, but since Amazon packages these wonderful coffees in cheap, thin, aluminum bags II can’t rate the coffees any higher. You see, if like me, you store your coffee in the bag it comes in, you may well find the bag rips apart after just a few times at the point of the folds. This, of course, exposes the coffee to the air and completely degades the quality of the coffee. With all the other Amazon branded coffees being packaged in strong, airtight bags that not only resist ripping but also protect the coffee from air from beginning to end, I have to assume the poor quailing of the bags of the Sumatra, Peruvian and Nicaraguan coffees was a CONSCIOUS decision made by Amazon to control cost. Seeing all the bad reviews about how this coffee tastes like dishwater filtered through moldy sawdust makes me realize just how bad people are at making a decent cup of coffee. For anyone having trouble with the quality, freshness, strength, or taste of this coffee, I have a simple 10 step recipe for you that will give you a great cup of coffee every time. You're welcome, in advance. Step 1: Before opening the bag, take out a large glass mixing bowl. Set the bag in the mixing bowl. One tradeoff of the high quality materials and handcrafted construction of this bag, is that it is delicate and may rip while opening. Don't worry though, the glass bowl will catch what spills. No more than a cup or two. Step 2: Slowly open the bag. Don't rush. Take in the unique aroma of this quality organic Peruvian roast. Unless you're used to coffee of this quality, you may not be able to appreciate the extremely subtle fragrance of this coffee. The closer you get to the bag, the easier it will be to detect. Step 3: Scoop out your desired amount of grounds. Some people think they need to use more grounds because this coffee is weak. Don't believe that. Just scoop out the amount you'd normally use. Step 4: Pour the grounds into your preferred brewing device—french press, coffee pot, Keurig, pour-over, etc. This method will work wonderfully with any brewing method. Step 5: Brew the coffee as usual. While you're waiting for your cup to brew, transfer the rest of the grounds (including what's in the glass bowl) to a freezer safe Ziploc bag. You may notice that these grounds are more dry than what you're used to. Don't worry. Most people don't realize that the roasting process actually dries the coffee. This coffee also undergoes a unique aging process inside the Amazon warehouse that causes further drying. Step 6: Once your cup is brewed, dress it up as usual—milk, cream, sugar, etc. However you normally do it, don't deviate from that. You'll get the best taste if you drink this cup the way you usually prefer to drink your coffee. Step 7: Take that first sip. Wait. Savor it. Notice every note of flavor. Especially, the ones you aren't used to. This part is very important... Remember the taste. Make a note on your phone of your experience. Step 8: Now pour the rest of the cup into the sink and chunk the remaining grounds into the trash. Step 9: This is probably the most important step. Learn your lesson. Next time you run out of your favorite coffee and decide you want to try a quick and inexpensive replacement, remember that taste. Remember the smell. Remember this experience. Make better decisions. Step 10: Finally, go purchase your usual favorite coffee. Brew your usual cup, your usual way, and drink it as usual. There you go! A great cup of coffee, every time! I’m a coffee lover I’m a simple, coffee love or basic black coffee is my favorite and I’ve been looking for ways to save money because I do use the pods so for sustainability and also flavor I found Amazon beans are perfect for me. I grind them every morning and brew a cup or a pot of coffee and it is flavorful and meet my taste needs. I will tell you if it’s not better I would highly recommend for anybody that’s looking to save a little bit of money from you know name brands out there and have a reliable brand. I love this coffee! I really can't go back after using an organic medium roast. This is consistently great day after day. If you look out for a deal you can do well on this purchase. I use a Chemex pour over and I can't find a better cup of coffee anyplace! And I live in Manhattan! Fed up with $4 for a cup of coffee, I bring this brand already brewed in a jar and heat it up. Nothing compares. Make sure you use the correct dose and brew slowly with super hot water. This is my recipe for a damn good cup. This coffee is seriously so good.. and it was such a good deal! I actually only bought it because it I got a good price. But it's not bitter and has a nice flavor you can actually taste. I've bought other brands you can smell the flavor but it tasted just like plain ol coffee. I will buy this again! I recommend to trying it at least once. And to my great surprise, this coffee really delivered. I had bought it, not intending to drink it, but then decided to try it. I was really impressed and it takes a lot to impress me. Great flavor! My favorite coffee is Equal Exchange, Love Buz, but I have to order that at work and I needed something now. So I tried this, and while it’s not quite up to the Love Buz standard, it worked great.
