  • The best Amazon Fire TV manual
Have you seen the commercial where Gary Busey talks to his TV and finds exactly what he wants, he makes it look so easy. But, if you're like me you'll need a little help in configuring this device. Thank goodness for Shelby, she has an amazing ability of transforming complicated information into easy to follow step-by-step instruction. If you want to get the most out of your Amazon Fire TV do yourself a favor and buy this manual, you'll be glad you did. The how-to section was very helpful and the troubleshooting chapter helped me resolve a minor problem. Check out the table of contents to see just how extensive this guidebook is. One of the neatest things I learned in this user manual was how to mirror my Kindle Fire HDX to the TV, now the whole family can watch those funny cat videos on YouTube. ... show more

  • It is a good reference guide
This little booklet was helpful to me in the beginning as I am not tech savy. It is a good reference guide.

  • Amazon, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Amazon, you should be ashamed of yourselves. For starters, calling “Amazon Fire TV User Manual” a “manual” is misleading and disingenuous to be sure. It appears to have been written as a promotion for Amazon, packed with phrases like: • Even at its most expensive, Kindle Fire HDX is an incredibly affordable tablet. • Part of the allure of the Amazon Fire TV is the accessories that can be paired with it for your enjoyment. • Amazon Fire TV will only get better with time. It appears to be an advertizing a pamphlet generated to gloss over Amazon Fire TV’s limitations. It seems to be written as a corporate apology for the limitations inherent in the current device saying: The first iteration of almost all new devices is lacking in differing areas. Once each of these features is fully available, including the Amazon Free Time, the device will come into its own as a fully functioning entertainment system for your home. BUT it never identified what was lacking. Superfluous: In the section entitled, “How to Use Amazon Free Time” has two sentences. The first sentence basically says that Amazon Free Time will be available in 2014. The second sentence says “this digital book will include a full update with “exactly how to use Amazon Free Time as soon as the service is available.” BUT, it is not a digital book. It is a paperback that is 72 pages long with a heavy cover. And, it never indicates what “Amazon Free Time” is supposed to be or do. The “Manual” explains that instead of TV channels, the Amazon Fire TV User Manual uses “apps where different types of content are located.”And then goes for 19 pages superficially describing some 35 “apps”. Almost all the descriptions are less than one page. One of the more useless and inane entries is a three paragraph, six sentence long, description of the “All Fitness TV” app which it says is an “all encompassing app that pinpoints the intricacies of workout programs.” The description concludes, declaring that “this application takes fitness to an entirely new level all from your own living room. It just does not get any better than this.” Really? Finally, overall the “Amazon Fire TV User Manual appears to be the product of a thoughtless mashing of advertising literature and sketch notes that were hastily put together to be sold as a book (for $3.95). Heck, even the Table of Contents is screwed up…. The paragraph spacing between sections puts a double space at the beginning of a paragraph rather than the end, the effect of which is to associate a section title with sub-section entries ABOVE IT (rather than the sub-sections that follow it (and are the true sub-sections of that section title)). And the page numbers are just stuck on, one space after the title… so that it looks like a tangled DNA thread drifting down the page. Amazon, you should be ashamed of yourselves. ... show more

  • A little expensive considering the content
Mostly obvious, though useful content. Why isn't there free Amazon content covering the few topics (second screen,e.g.) that aren't really intuitive?

  • Incomplete Manual
The family was totally unhappy with the Fire TV itself, because it is a Pay TV arrangement. You must pay for everything you watch, so we dropped the Fire TV connection and got our subscription money back. The manual itself is well written and descriptive, but does not clearly state that Fire TV is a pay tv system. We were lucky that Amazon is such a very honorable retailer, and stands by what they market on the Internet. That is why our family will always return to Amazon for all our Internet purchases for everything! ... show more

  • A wealth of information--and cheap too!
Lots of good information. It was worth buying as it saved a lot of guesswork. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to separate words in the text search. I wish it had been addressed for people like me. Very simple now that I know.. Just use the forward arrow to create a space. Then type the next word. That was my only hurdle! It is so worth buying. ... show more
