  • Great book for 2-way radio and Scanners users
Format: Paperback
This book is really good... especially for Dummies like myself HAHA.

  • Ok to start with.
Format: Paperback
I read it in one sitting, very clear and simple high level. Helpful if you are thinking about getting into the stuff , not very helpful if you have a radio sitting in front of you and want to use it. Over all its a good pre beginner guide.

  • Outstanding overview for the novice or those even curious about radio
Format: Paperback
This book gives a very thorough overview of the world of radio. It discusses in detail the various radio systems in use and how to determine what radio fits your needs. There is a great deal of information on selecting radios for business use, as well as the expected discussion of Ham radio and the use of radios by government agencies and emergency services. The book can be a bit technical in some sections, but from cover to cover it provides a great overview for some interested in understanding a broad range of topics related to radios. ... show more

  • Some mistakes
Format: Paperback
Tried to learn the basics but found an error right at the beginning that had me confused . There may be other calculation errors in this book but good for just the basics .

  • For Dummies for me
Format: Paperback
The 4th or 5th book in the series of "for dummies" that I have purchased [not sure what that says about me]. If you have read a few of these books they follow the same basic theme - you're a dummy and don't know anything so lets start at the very beginning. Just what I was looking for! Now working on my HAM license but I had to start somewhere. Timely shipping, sufficient packing to arrive undamaged, and a reasonable price. ... show more

  • The basics only...............
Format: Paperback
If you wonder what happened to CB Radios, what a HAM radio is or what a short-wave radio is, this is the book. Which works best in emergencies, or outdoors communications between groups like hunters. Licensing requirements and etiquette while using. Do people still call Breaker, Breaker?
