these new tablets are loaded with features. for my daughter it helps her with her reading, we can set it up so she has to read for a certain time before it allows her in other apps. But right out of the box it is set up. With 4 Gigs of memory she is able to do about anything she wants and doesn't run out of space. She drops the thing all over the place and the dog steps on it but it still seems to be just fine so it is more durable than the kid? it is made for kids to use so it can't be that difficult to use, right?

The media could not be loaded. I have three toddler boys, two of which being three and four. At times giving them a tablet is all I can do to get some peace. These tablets are perfect. The parental controls are magnificent. The educational value for the apps so far is decent. My boys are SO HAPPY and SO EXCITED. Definitely worth the money! The sizes of them are perfect, and honestly I was impressed with their functionality… We shall see how long they last :)

I bought this Fire HD 8 Kids tablet thinking it would keep my kid busy sometimes. What I didn’t expect was my 5-year-old swiping through apps smoother than I swipe through emails. This thing survives everything: dropped during dance parties, chewed by the dog (don’t ask), and once sent flying because I’m DONE!!! and it still works like new. The protective case should get an award for bravery. Battery life actually lasts more than a snack break. The content and parental controls are great, I feel like I set the rules, even though my kid now tells me what to watch. Five stars because it’s educational, entertaining, and somehow more durable than my coffee mug.

I bought the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids (Disney Princess Edition) for my 5-year-old, and overall, it’s a fantastic device that keeps her entertained and learning. We love the design and the content, but there is one major flaw you need to be aware of. The Pros: The Content is Amazing: The included 1-year Amazon Kids+ subscription is a lifesaver. Being the Disney Princess edition, the case is adorable (and super sturdy!), and my daughter loves the exclusive Disney themes and wallpapers. Parental Controls: Amazon’s dashboard is still the best in the business. I can easily set time limits, educational goals, and filter content by age without needing to hold the device myself. Screen & Battery: The 8" HD screen is noticeably brighter and clearer than the older models, making movies look great. The 13-hour battery life is also legit—we survived a long road trip without needing a charger. The Major Flaw (Why I took off 1 star): 32GB is NOT enough storage: This is the big downside. Out of the box, a huge chunk of that 32GB is already taken up by the system software. Once you download a few Disney movies for offline viewing and a handful of games, you get the "Storage Full" warning constantly. You must buy a microSD card if you plan to use this for travel or offline play. Verdict: If you grab this tablet, just add a microSD card to your cart at the same time. Once you solve the storage issue, it’s a near-perfect tablet for kids 3-7.

Super easy for my boy to get the hang of! Lots of parent features. Lock on buying or downloading apps. Screen time restrictions. Been dropped many times and has held up great! I love the case it comes with very durable for little guy! And has a handle making it easy for him to carry!

I love the control I have! My 3yo isn’t watching anything I don’t approve, can’t do anything I don’t allow. This was a great no regret ordeal! If you are finicky about tablets, I recommend this one or a pre programmed leap frog. I don’t want my kids exposed to stupid stuff. I just wish it didn’t take so long to charge. It’s great for a 3 year old! Super durable! He throws it a lot. Screen quality is great. I recommend blue light glasses if they are starting young. And buy the memory card! Especially if they love taking videos and pics!
