I was worried about the color and how wide it’d be at the top. But they fit perfectly! And the color isn’t as “orange” as it looks in the picture. If you have wide calves, I’m not sure these are the boots for you. They fit snug around mine, but that’s what I wanted. You’ll definitely have to break in the shoe, but that comes with any kind of shoe!

I was looking for wide calfs boots, these are ok. Would like them to be a little wider but they still fit and look nice. I was just hoping they would be a little wider and not have them look too snug. UPDATE: These are so tight on the toes, they hurt through out day.

This review is for the Amazon Essentials riding boot (photo 1). Equestrian inspired durable daily barn boot for horse keeping activities and suitable for riding western or english, practical and economical. The Amazon boot arrived 12 hrs after ordering. Made with high quality leather like pleather. The faux suede lining is very appealing and shows the maker aimed for a high-quality boot. The half-zipper is used on riding boots to avoid scratching the saddle leather. Albeit, I've ridden in imposter riding boots with full inside zippers for years and never damaged my saddles. The boot falls below the knee and resembles a hybrid roper/english boot. I wear and ordered an 8.5M, I do not recommend sizing up or down. I also purchased the LifeStride english riding boot and is stunning pleather dressage boot duper (photo 2). Also, wide-calf boots are the new norm and very poorly identified in ads. Before placing your order I suggest reading the fine print. I was amongst many that order 8.5M and was sent 8.5M WC.

I got these in a box that said the original box had been destroyed in transit. No stuffing in the boots to keep their shape and prevent creasing; just one small piece of tissue to keep the boots from rubbing. They were obviously returns, both zippers were undone and there was a little wear on the soles. There were a few scuffs from either the poor packaging or the previous owner. I was really pissed, but kept them because my size is never in stock and I'd been holding off on an outfit for weeks until these came in. I was able to work the creases out with a hair dryer and buff the scuffs to barely noticeable, but I really should have sent them back. I will next time. Otherwise the boots are cute and comfortably to size, but I have to put the bad experience out of mind when I wear them.

The boots look nice and the fit is what it is supposed to be. However, because the boots are inexpensive, they are not comfortable. The inner sole of the boots feel hard. My feet hurt 😞 around my toes after a couple of hours of walking in them. With every step the boots felt heavy when I walk in them. Maybe I need to break them in. I'll keep them. It look great around my 17 inch calves. Thanks Amazon anyway. I know the shoe designer tried.

I was looking forward to these boots. While the footbed fits my 8.5 foot perfectly - I can not get the boots above my lower calf. If you need “large calf” boots - these are not for you. I wear a size 16 in jeans. I do not have swollen legs. Save yourself the headache- don’t bother.
