This is a lightweight weave. I wanted something I can cram into my personal item for the plane. You know how after 30 minutes being herded like cattle, it's 95 F in the jetway? You sit on the tarmac for the obligatory 45 minutes and the flight attendants are about to pass out in their polyester uniforms, so as soon as your flight is clear to take off the air handler comes on and suddenly you could store popsicles in economy class? This is the garment you want on hand. This sweater is a thin weave but just enough to throw on and keep you from turning blue when your neighbor turns all the air jets on his sweaty self. The weave is tight enough it doesn't self destruct when it sees a spiral notebook or a stucco wall. This is by no means a solo winter sweater, but it would be great for a chilly business casual office as well It's well sewn and drapes gracefully should you wish to conceal something like a passport wallet on a string or a well-trained chihuahua. It comes down a bit past your hips and gives the vague impression of a blazer. I think the weave is dense enough to pin a brooch or an ID tag onto without destroying it. Best of all, I am an elderly, short, very plus size lady. The sleeves are a bit long on me (normal size for someone over 5'1"). They slide up just fine so your hands are free. And it's a true plus size - I would say the 6X would work for everyone from a baggy 3X to a 7X if you like a tighter fit. That leads me to believe the sizing might be true for smaller size persons as well. That's rare these days. This thing makes an awesome blanket if you're stuck on a cold train or bus, then it rolls up smaller than a pair of plus size jeans. I'm off to buy another one while they're on sale. If you're a traveler who gets cold, or just want something a bit more stylish than a sweatshirt to keep you warm, get one of these.

These cardigans are perfect. I have several different colors. They are lightweight and perfect for the spring or fall or when you just need a little extra warmth. They are for a light cover. There are no pockets. They are just long enough to "soften" any outfit and/or make it more "conservative". They do run a little big. I am an hourglass shape with 36d bra. I normally wear a size Large top and size 14 or L/XL pants/skirts. I first bought one of these in a size Large. It's way to big and does not look neat. The others I bought in a size Medium. The medium is the best fit. I can wear tshirts, camisoles, dresses, or sleeveless tops underneath. They dress up the outfit and the medium is just the best size for a streamlined, neat, professional look.

I purchase cardigans to wear over my shirts, ever since I gained weight and found it necessary to cover my behind. You would need to size up 2 sizes to deal with the shrinkage in the washer and dryer, but the color stays the same and looks amazing after wash and dry. I made the mistake of ordering my usual size. It still fits somewhat, but it will have to go in my "when I lose weight" pile in order for me to wear going out, but I can still squeeze into it for wearing around the apartment. The material is super thin, so this would be more for spring and summer. Also, there are no buttons, so it is meant to be opened. This cardigan doesn't wrap closed, especially if you are on the overweight or obese side like I am. I'd say this style is more for thinner or normal-weight individuals.
