These are very nice looking pants that fit very well for my 32-inch waist shape. I get a lot of compliments on these pants, and would certainly purchase more pants of these types in the future. Very comfortable.

    • Great, serviceable pants
Size: 31W x 34L Color: Black
I buy these for my husband in both black and the medium blue shade. He loves them and wears them all the time. They are comfortable and not hot. The cotton is a good weave, very smooth and doesn't wear out. He wears them to work at the office, around the house and on stage playing guitar (he also has to lug his guitar, amp, and sound system around, so he's hard on his clothes for someone who does not do manual labour). He takes a 34" inseam and these are juuust long enough. I haven't measured them, but they might come up a tiny bit short. They are not tight on him, so I would say they are definitely true to size in the waist and hips. The only other reason they are not five-star is that the black colour fades with wear (actually, the blue does, too, but you don't notice it; I can only see the difference in the blue when I compare pants of different ages). It is true that black cotton always fades, perhaps because I line dry our clothes. They might not fade as much in a dryer, although I do dry them inside out, in the shadiest area possible... I absolutely love these pants! Jean alternative?. Very comfortable and holds well to the waist if the size in on. No belt needed! I have worn name brand jeans for most of my life except on those occasions where jeans may not be right on for the occasion. Also, a couple years later, you reorder your favorite jeans only to find the size you ordered has changed size! The fit is perfect, at least true to me, and has the "odd" numbers- such as 31" length, as that is my length! Don't get me started on the major brand jeans! Five stars all around here! My elderly father claims that he only likes his old, worn-in slacks and wouldn't agree to new slacks. I bought these, washed them, and put them in his drawer. He said he found slacks he must have forgotten about, and they feel and fit great. He loves them and is so happy he "found" a great pair of pants that he forgot about. LOL ... show more

Wrinkle terribly when washed and tumble dried. Looked great out of the package, but wrinkled horribly when washed and dried following the care label directions. Unless you enjoy ironing don't buy these. Revised: After ignoring the care instructions and washing on warm and drying on medium heat they came out wearable without ironing. Not perfect, but not embarrassed to wear them in public. Didn't notice any shrinkage. I have upgraded the score to 3 stars. Still not in the class of higher priced chinos, but serviceable for a decent price. ... show more

These fit well overall, maybe just a little looser than I would like but they are holding up well. I have a few pair of these that I wear as part of my work uniform daily. One pair didn't have the waste button sewn on very well, but that's an easy fix

I’ve picked up a few different pairs of chinos over the years, and these Amazon Essentials ones are definitely a good value for the price. The fit is true to size — straight without being too tight or baggy — and there’s just enough stretch to make them comfortable for all-day wear. The fabric feels durable but lightweight, so they work year-round. Stitching and overall construction look solid too — no loose threads or weird seams out of the box. Only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the color (Tan) is just a little lighter than it looked online — not a big deal, but something to be aware of. Other than that, no complaints. Comfortable, affordable, and easy to dress up or down. Would definitely buy another pair in a darker color next time. ... show more
