Oh, the Amazon Essentials Men's Slim-Fit Short-Sleeve Crewneck T-Shirts have turned my husband into a walking billboard for comfort and style! We practically have to pry these shirts off his back to get them in the wash because he loves them so much. I'm starting to think he might be developing a bit of a "T-shirt addiction." He walks around the house wearing them, struts his stuff when he's out and about, and even sleeps in them. If he could, he'd probably wear them to formal events and weddings too! I bought a “premium” quality T-shirt that pilled and faded within a couple of weeks. These Amazon tshirts although not as soft have lasted longer. I work in food service and need to wear blank plain shirts. They are not super slim fitting but I will def be buying more.

I've been purchasing and wearing Russell Athletic Pocket Tee shirts for many years. They're comfortable, they look good, the fit was right in every way. I needed some replacement tees early this year and couldn't find any of the Russells except at truly exorbitant prices and never in my size. I tried a couple of different shirts and was unhappy with them all, they were all the same price or higher as what I used to pay for Russells but the quality wasn't as good and the fit was never quite right. I read the reviews here, especially the review by "Shea" who favorably compared this Amazon Essentials-brand pocket tee to the Russell. So I bought a couple to try them out. They look good, are comfortable, the pocket is fine, construction looks good. The length of the sleeves is perfect, fit around chest and gut are perfect; but the collar is wider and the tails are longer than the Russells, these shirts could lose 2 inches from the tails (the length of the waist) and at least 1 inch of circumference around the neck. Maybe I should try one size smaller? Maybe but I'm afraid the sleeve length would be too short for me. They wash up well and dry in the dryer without trouble (unlike some other shirts I tried which took forever to dry). They seem to be shedding a lot of lint in the dryer, though – I hope that doesn't mean they are going to wear out fast. So: As good as my Russells? No. Better than any other short-sleeve pocket tee in this price range that I've tried? Yes. And since the Russells seem to be gone for good, I bought more of these shirts. They're not perfect but I guess they just don't make 'em like they used to, or in the case of the Russell Athletic Pocket Tee, they don't make 'em at all anymore.

My whole upper-body wardrobe is solid or minimally-patterned shirts and sweaters. A while back Target had a brand of solid color slim-fit shirts that I loved, both for their fit and price. They were discontinued and since then I've struggled to find an alternative. Some people recommended a brand that charged something like $30/shirt, which I balked at given they were just solid color cotton shirts! These shirts are not only the lowest price I've seen, but they fit great. The material is a little stiff the first few washes and thus is prone to wrinkling and doesn't feel super soft, but after they're broken in they're great. (It's a little unfair comparison with my remaining super old Target shirts that have probably been through 70+ washes each!) I've already bought several, and I'm tempted to buy a bunch more in case they change vendors/manufacturing--super common with "basic" items like this--or just discontinue them altogether.

The first shirts I got were great (light blue). Loved the material (very soft) and fit was perfect. So I decided to get some more in different colors. Some of those are great too (gray), but others are terrible (black and green). The material isn’t as soft. The shirt isn’t as long and rides up in the back. I assumed I was purchasing the same shirt, just in a different color. But instead feels more like a totally different (inferior) product.
