Very late comer to the Echo world but these Show 8's are the way to go! I bought a Show 5 to see the new Ring doorbell but right away realized the processor was to slow for what I expected. The Show 8 is great, I watch YT TV on the porch, listen to music in the backyard and YES it sounds pretty decent for size even outdoors. Its a daily reminder, calendar, music, tv, Prime viewing wonder!

I’ve been using the Echo Show 8 (newest model), and it’s one of the most useful smart home devices I’ve added. The screen and sound quality together make it feel like more than just a smart speaker. The 8.7" HD display is bright, clear, and the perfect size for everyday use—not too big, not too small. It’s great for watching videos, following recipes, checking the weather, or making video calls. The sound quality is impressive for its size, with noticeable improvement thanks to spatial audio. Music sounds full, and it’s loud enough to fill a room. Setup was quick, and it integrates easily with other smart home devices. I’ve been using it for timers, reminders, and controlling lights, which makes daily routines much easier. The built-in camera is also a nice feature for video calls, and the auto-framing helps keep you centered. Missing LLM system!

I was very impressed with the rollout originally of the AI it was almost just like advertised with Pete Davidson however there was some type of blackout in Amazon and when the lights came back on the assistant has never been the same it's always on repeat and there is selection of conversation is limited in the beginning it would let you talk about anything as if you were talking to a real person and now with all the limitations I wouldn't make another purchase based on the AI system You had it right the first time and then I don't know it's just like a kitty litter alarm please do us all a favor and allow the AI to grow and stop being so repetitive and conversation and stop it from having to recap and analyze the conversation if it's supposed to be a relatable assistant
