Red lights bathed the bridge in a rhythmic pulse of impending doom. We had just repelled a boarding party of Xylorphian Slime-Beasts, but the damage was done. The tactical consoles were coated in a corrosive, neon-green mucus that smelled faintly of sulfur and regret. If we couldn't clear the sensors, the cloaked warbirds would have us for lunch.
