I use this on my 12" cast iron pan. It slides on and off with a little effort, but it is not completely snug. It does insulate, but it still gets quite warm. So you can use it to hold the pan while stirring, or to rotate the pan, or slide it to another burner. But I would not rely on it for lifting the pan. I recommend using pot holders to do that.

Cheap, simple, effective--put this on the metal handle of your metal pots and pans. Save your skin from the burning it will get because conduction is a bitch. Yes, you heard me. Conduction is the process by which the atoms that compose the handle of your pots and pans are heated indirectly through the heat that transfers throughout the rest of the pot (or pan) as those other parts are heated directly by the flames of your stove. You don't want a pot (or a pan) with some cheap, plastic handle. You like the solid, one-piece metal stuff. This little dealy will help.

Works well but it’s too loose for the handle in my cast iron pan, which I thought was a pretty standardized fit. So either I’m wrong or they are. It’s a little loose but still works, but I’d definitely rather have one that fits a little more snuggly

I use this on a grilling skillet on my grill (the handle is metal). No more fumbling for the oven mitt. Good fit, good heat resistance, makes the pan easier to grip. I would purchase again if I had more pans.

This handle cover works great on my Le Creuset skillet handles. It prevents any heat transfer to the hand but is little awkward in the hand.

I liked the Amazon Basics Silicone Hot Skillet Rectangular Handle Cover for keeping me from absentmindedly touching the hot pan handle. However, it was too large for my Lodge cast iron pan. I could not shake the pan while cooking or pour contents from the pan because the cover would twist and pull off much too easily. This may work well for someone whose handle is larger. The item seemed well-made and was easy to clean.

Got a beautiful copper pan for my son while thrifting. The handle gets crazy hot so this handle cover is perfect. Might have cost more than the thrifted pan but he's happy. BTW we also use these in the school concession stand for fry basket handles and they work great there too.
