The whole point is to have clean backgrounds in your product images. The hard crease in the backdrop is horrible. One more step in the process to have to edit before your done. If anyone actually reads this , the solution would be to package the backdrop in a rolled tube to install after un-boxing the product. The one time install step greatly outweighs the hassle of the edit steps.

I love this! I've been looking for something to take pictures of cats and kittens (I run a rescue)... that would contain the animal while I take pictures. This works so good... and the cats and kittens look amazing! I added a little white shag rug and wala! We use the hole at the top to drop a little hanging toy down to distract them. The only thing I would change is the three windows (since I'm using live animals)... I would have liked if I could have better secured them... because once they find it, they want to exit... but I understand this is probably used more for still objects. Other than that it's fun and I love it!

Out of the package look and feel, ease of set up and initial photographs were all excellent. My first impression in all areas was very good. However, I am updating my review and dropping from 5 to 4 stars for a few reasons. 1. A con/ inconvenience is that there is no switch to turn off the lights; the light box must be unplugged or collapsed to turn off the lighting. Not a huge deal if your outlet is accessible, but still less convenient then just flipping a little switch. 2. There are lights at the top center and top left but not the top right; slight shadow is cast becasue it isn't perfectly even. 3. There is a crease in the white backdrop that shows up in the pictures. it can be edited out, very easily depending on the app or software you use; still, it is there. Notes: The electric cord initiates at the top of the lightbox, but it is long enough to plug in a wall outlet at the standard height, even when the light box is set up on a table. There are three flaps in the front that are held open or shut with magnets, making it very convenient to position your camera at different heights. The opening at the top is good; it would be better if there was a magnet or Velcro to hold that flap open; I just folded it back to use the top opening. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. Good value; love that it's portable and easily stored. I purcahsed the item for home/ light business use and am keeping it.

This is a brilliantly constructed portable studio, but you still have to use it properly. Reading through the number of complaints regarding the crease in the backdrop, people are clearly not following directions. You need to set your camera profile to the recommended parameters - manual setup of ISO and shutter speed and exposure comp. that's listed on the website but not in the instructions booklet, which is unfortunate. This provides the optimum amount of light to white out the background and expose for the subject. Looking at the example pics, people are shooting with an automatic camera profile, which is exposing for the white background - leaving it a muddy off-white/grey and thus clearly showing the shadow of the backdrop fold. I agree with all the pros of this photo studio; I will list what I think are the cons: - no additional colored backdrops - no dimmable LEDs - no on/off switch for LEDs - curious about the actual CRI of LEDs - despite setting the white balance for 5500-5600K, I get a slight greenish tint that has to be corrected for (could just be my camera) - would love the ability to buy additional LED strips to attach separately - opaque sides, you can't use additional lighting to come in from the sides - for the price, throw in a cheap reflector to help bounce some of the light around inside - I think the LEDs offer adequate illumination, but more lumens is always welcomed Despite what I would like to see additional, for the next version of this portable studio - I find what's provided, more than adequate for the price. And you can't beat the simplicity and convenience - especially if portability is a must.

so close to being a great product. super functional, good lighting, folds down to travel really well. however! the back drop gets damaged by the folding. when mine showed up it had a large crease in the middle of it, and some indentions from screws- which makes it difficult to photograph. could not get the creases out. i think the back drop should be rolled and shipped separately.
