The grip is very secure and not remotely slippery. I find the width of the grip to be just right but that preference may depend on the size of your hand. I am 5’7” and have fairly long fingers. I ordered this to go with the set of weights I ordered. The set I ordered only had the 2lb up, and after I torn the rotator cuff I and having to start strengthening it with a 1 lb weight first and go up from there. Hope I can hang with all the weights till it heals without surgery needed. Seem to be nice weights. I might even get into weight lifting even after the arm heals. I like these weights as they are easy to grip even if you are sweaty. They are not quite exactly 10 lbs according to my scale but close enough. The finish on them is rubbery which is nice for wooden floors and for good grip.
