The first thing I do when getting a SD card (or flash drive) is to test its capacity. Regardless of the seller or brand, I fill the media with data to 95-98% of its capacity, then read back the files. Using 2-4GB video files is the fastest way to accomplish the task. Since I have seen many complains about storage media not having the capacity stated by manufacturers, I need to explain the capacity disparity between storage media capacity stated by manufacturers and Windows OS. Manufacturers of storage media measure capacity using a decimal system (1GB = 1000MB / 128GB =128,000MB). Windows OS uses a binary system to measure disk space (1GB = 1024MB / 128GB = 117,000MB ). That is the reason why your flash drive, disk or SD card might show less capacity than stated by manufacturers. In this instance manufacturers, and OSes such as MacOS and Linux, are using the correct measurement (prefix giga = 1000). The Amazon Basic SD card work as good as other brand name rated at this speed. It reached read speeds of 91 MB/s with sustained read speed of 86.4 MB/s while transferring 10.2 GB of data. It hit a top write speed of 65.1 MB/s with a sustained write speed of 64.3 MB/s while copying 10.2 GB. On a Mac it went as fast as 74.7 MB/s read and 64.5 MB/s write speed, since the USB reader controller could not go faster. Many laptops SD slot and card readers might not be able to go above 480 MBit/s (60 MB/s) transfer... so faster SD cards might not be able to achieve their top speed. The Amazon Basic SD card handles FHD videos @ at 60FPS smooth without skipping. It is fast, consistent, and works in anything that takes a microSDXC or SD card. I didn't even know there was a great difference withis difference with SD cards. When I inserted this memory card, comma my fire tablet gave me a notification saying that SD card was not compatible because it requires grade 10 or higher . This was a grade 2 card.. Amazon's own tablet called that card junk. It did ship relatively quick.

The shipping was fast although it did show up in a giant envelope. I got the 256GB one. I tested it right away. It had about 238 ish GBs which is expected. Can't remember the exact numbers. The speed was just over 80 MB/S write and 86 MB/S read. This isn't the fastest but well within specs. And for the price I'm happy with it. I recommend testing any sd card you get asap when you get it with something like H2testw. Because Amazon gets them in batches and sometimes (rarely) even they can get scammed. If you test it and it's bad let them know right away so they can replace it and pull that batch for testing. It will help others from getting a bad one. For those that don't know the card can be programed to show its 256GB when in reality its only something like 15GB. That's why you should use a testing program not just look at the empty space reported by windows. Hope this helps someone.

These will be or exceed the needs of 99% of anyone looking for this type of product. The competition sells overspect over engineered memory cards just so they can sell you on the "speed" and such. The fact is, no one needs their cars to do what the high priced cards say they can do. Save your money, buy this one, be happy.
