    • Thin But Seem to Hold Up and Work Well

I've got a bunch of these Amazon Basics fiber optic cables in various sizes 200', 150', 100', and these were my first 50'. It's surprising to me that they work as well as they do and are able to be gently walked on or whatever without damage (so far). All of them have worked well. Be very aware that these are directional cables and will absolutely not work if you try to send signal into the output end rather than the input. My only minor complaint is that the directional triangles are more subtle than I'd like for a critical indicator. I take a white Sharpie and draw a big triangle on each end to show signal direction, but the beautiful mirror finish on each end means I need to redo it with every few uses. That's a small price to pay for such a useful tool, IMO. I will definitely buy more of these, and I'll say that I like them a lot better than the woven fabric covered thicker cables that can accomplish the same thing but are much stiffer and don't follow corners as well as these do. ... show more

I could get two into a 1" conduit by staggering them in the order of the pull and run an Apple TV and a media server off them. Purchased this to have as a backup HDMI cord for laptops / TV's in the house. Have tried to use it several times on various devices and doesn't work at all. Realized it wasn't the devices but the defective cord. Tried to get a refund from Amazon but it had passed the return window. The rep elevated to a supervisor and they could not issue an exchange (despite the time window on the item order saying they could...). They offered me a refund, less a 20% restocking fee. I took the return & refund at 80% to cut my loss. Would NOT recommend the item -- or at least test it out immediately on various items. ... show more

This cable is beautiful for it works exactly as advertised for there is no need for HDMI extender hardware removing a point of failure and it just works. The plug is a little big to pass thru when you have a few cables so keep this in mind. This plug does not seem to work with CEC so keep that in mind as well. ... show more

This is a great value cable as it relates to video quality and for that I am grateful. Quality of the cable seems as good as more expensive fiber HDMI cables that I have used. I have used these in 50-100 foot lengths and unfortunately over 50 feet the Audio Return Channel does not work. CEC control works and will turn receiver on with TV but will not send audio from TV back to the receiver reliably or at all. I should note that I am a professional Audio Video integrator and have lots of experience. I have tried different brands, some costing nearly 4 times as much. I have tried injecting power via HDMI booster on both side of cable. Cable direction was correct and verified. I have come to the conclusion that these are incredible for long runs for video but you will need to run an optical audio cable for audio also. ... show more

This cable was bought to use in a conference room to have enough length to run to different people to plug their laptop into a projector input, while being lighter and easier to handle (and not pull your laptop off the table!) than a full-copper traditional cable would be.     • Did not realize this cable are directional.

I initially thought these cables did not work and started the return process. Then realized they are directional and I had it backwards. Something to watch for with fiber HDMI. Fiber Ethernet is not directional so I didn't think of it.
