I have used this Amazon cast iron cassarole/skillet for about six months It’s very versatile. I used it to pan fry pork chops, make cassaroles of all kinds and slow cook meats like chicken thighs in wine sauce. The lid seals in steam and juices from whatever you’re cooking and flavor is not lost from the sauce around your meat or fish. I have not encountered any hot spots during stove top use or oven use. Cleaning-I soak in sudsy warm water if needed to loosen any stuck on bits and follow with a gentle scrub with a dark green scrubber or a plastic scrubber like not same as a Brillo pad- it’s not Teflon easy but very possible. This is my most favorite and versatile piece of cookware. I’ve roasted chicken, roast and veggies in it as well as used it on the cooktop to make prepare one pot dishes. It distributes heat well and is super easy to clean up with hot water and soap. Do not use anything abrasive to clean this! I love this pan. I have a Le Creuset also and while I’ll say the quality is not exactly the same, it’s very similar. This is a beautiful pan that heats well, cooks evenly, and washes easily. I’ve cooked everything from salmon to pasta in it, and it turns out just as well as my previous Teflon pan. I don’t know how this pan is so inexpensive. If you cook, this is a good buy. I like the size because you can use it to cook a larger meal as well as smaller one. Dutch ovens are a must if you cook and this size accommodates variety sizes.
