Ecoflex 00-35 Fast Platinum Cure Silicone Rubber Compound Kit is a soft, fast cure platinum-catalyzed silicone that is versatile and easy to use. Low viscosity ensures easy mixing and pouring. Rubber cures without "tacky" surface, is very soft, very strong and very "stretchy”, stretching many times its original size. EcoFlex 00-35 is off-white translucent and can be color pigmented using Silc Pig silicone color pigments. Ecoflex 00-35 Fast can also be used for a variety of skin safe applications including making fast skin safe appliances for special effects and cosplay, cushioning for orthopedic and orthotic devices worn on the body and much more.

This stuff sets FAST, and that's a great thing for some body molds. You have time to stir for like 1 minute before putting it on and it's fully cured to the touch in under 5 minutes. No waiting around with sticky half-cured silicone on your skin. I would definitely not use this for anything deep with fine detail though, because it's pretty viscous and sets so fast there's little hope of popping air pockets unless you're extremely skilled. I love the other products from smooth-on but this one greatly reduced my production time. This silicone sets quickly which may limit your ability to use it but if you have a fast pour application ECO-FLEX 00-35 is worth a look at because it sets so quickly. Another excellent product.

Ecoflex 00-35 i definitely a fast setting silicone. It is also not as soft as I thought it would be. Overall, I liked how easy it was to use, after I got over the fear of working with it. I would buy again and recommend as well.

    • Starts curing within 30 seconds
I had high hopes for Smooth-On Fast 00-35, but what I received was either past its shelf life or completely defective. Even before mixing, I noticed clumps in both Part A and Part B. I weighed both parts, but within 30 seconds of mixing, it started setting up—way too fast to work with. By the time I attempted to pour, it was already half-solid in the mixing bucket. Even after an hour, it still hasn’t fully cured and remains a useless half-solid, half-liquid mess. This was a complete waste of time and money. Very disappointing. ... show more

    • Easy, quick, and incredible results! BE READY FOR THE SHORT POTLIFE!
In short: Great for quick turnaround, takes pigments incredibly well, good strength, overall fantastic silicone depending on your needs or project. A little nighttime reading breakdown: Bought this specifically for its short pot life and for casting silicone in silicone. Anyone new to making a silicone casting (not a mold) ensure you use a mold release or a thin coat of Vaseline! Otherwise the silicone will bond to your mold and that’s a wrap. For aerosol release I prefer either Stoner Brand (if painting your castings Stoner has a great product that does not leave that annoying residue that paint hardly adheres to… or Mann Ease Release 200 Pot life: I believe it’s 2-2.5 minutes depending on your current climate. I’m able to squeeze an extra minute or two out of this by putting both A and B side in an ice bath for for 20-30 minutes. When you’re using a pressure pot this is incredibly helpful as that 15-20 seconds it takes to tighten down the lid and hit it with pressure is everything. Pigmenting: It takes pigments incredibly well: Mica and SilkPig from Smooth-On are the two I used. Zero issues with curing or cure inhibition. ... show more

My first mold. Top section of a tortoise shell, day after my pet died. I used a very fine brushing of mineral oil to seal the shell. Easy on and easy off, I was relieved. What really impressed me was that even with all the "grand canyon" relief detail in the shell, I did not encounter any surface air bubbles. The casting came out PERFECT, and the detail was ASTOUNDING. Every scratch and abrasion of his ~50 year life was preserved. And, the mold is perfectly re-usable. Awesome product! ... show more

I just getting into Silicone, after having done latex for many, many years. I wanted something I could start small on, and not have to create large expensive molds for. This stuff is perfect, and has worked out great! Was able to cast several small projects with rubber molds, and the finished silicone prosthetic is awesome. Used the Smooth-on colors, and some flocking powders, and the end result is everything I had hoped for. I only wish this trial kit was larger... will have to buy more. ... show more
