  • Great Car Camping Tent
Size: 8 Person
I got this tent specifically for car camping. I have a very pricey 3 person Mountain Hardware backpacking tent I usually use, but my husband wanted a bigger tent to camp from the car with so I got this. It’s huge. I could put 2 king sized air mattresses in this and still have space on the edges. It’s tall enough in the center for me to stand up, but I’m only 5’1”. We took this tent to Maine to camp in a very remote area. I knew we were going to have some cold rainy days and yet I didn’t pack a back up tent. Good thing I didn’t need it. It was 50 and pouring for 2 days. Our tent stayed plenty warm and dry. No leaks. No water inside the tent at all. For how massive this tent it, it’s very easy to set up and tear down even for one person. This tent performed significantly better than the Coleman and Ozark Trail tents other friends were staying in and was still easier to set up than the higher end Kelty and Easy Up tents others had. I was definitely impressed with it and I’d say I’m somewhat of a tent snob considering I am used to my Mountain Hardware and REI tents. I am certain I had the best tent in camp and also the cheapest. My friends have already ordered the same one. I read a few reviews about the zipper but I had no issues with it. I’ll report back if it breaks but it feels solid and smooth to me. ... show more

  • excellent tent for excellent price!
Size: 4 Person
We needed something cheap and durable for our first family camping trip. After a failed facebook marketplace attempt at buying a tent i was quite skeptical of anything cheap. After reading reviews i decided to take a risk and purchase this one & it did not disappoint. The set up was easy, and we were able to fit two full sized beds in the tent. We slept 5 people in a 4 person, granted one of us is a baby, and there wasn’t extra room for our stuff but just enough space to sleep comfortably! We just left suitcases in the car. The tent has taped seems which would give it extra durability during rain, although we did not have any rain on our trip. We are excited to take it out again! ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised, except the bag.
Size: 4 Person
I've bought super high end tents, and super cheap no-name. I've been surprised by both, but rarely. I had pretty low expectations here because Amazon Basics is usually pretty reliable as generic stuff goes, but the price was a little too good to be true. The tent is actually really solid for the money. I'd take it over a lot of other off-brand tents that cost twice as much. The rainfly is seam taped properly, the floor is bathtub style which is excellent in the wet as long as you pitch it right, and the corners are really well reinforced. The design is solid with a decent amount of mesh, windows in the door and back of the tent that are under the fly, decent zippers (nothing fancy), comes with a cute little gear loft. It's also got a passthrough slot for an extension cord if you're backyard camping (or you're one of those campers) with an icon printed on that looks exactly like the passthrough an icon on a larger Core Designs tent I have, which makes me suspect it's a Core Designs white-label, but I don't know for sure. My only real gripe is the storage bag, which looks like a really nice car camping storage bag, except it's made of a terrible material. Not sure what it's called, but I've run into it before and it's super cheap, flimsy, snags on everything, and will certainly fail before the tent does. As cheap as this tent is, I can't complain much about that, but I'd have paid $5 more to have a normal tent bag included. ... show more

  • Superb Value
Size: 4 Person
Insofar as value goes, this is an amazing product. It kept me dry during a week of some heavy rain in the backwoods of Maine. I have two minor criticisms: 1. The rainfly needs two additional guy line attachments on the sides without the window or entrance. Presently, the rainfly lies flat against the tent, limiting ventilation and tempting the rains (see image). There are several no cost ways to address this in a field expedient manner - easily remedied on the go. 2. The rain flap covering the zipper of the entrance would often get caught in the zipper. This required two-handed use of the zipper to prevent and/or remedy. Again, super value for what this is! ... show more

  • Perfect and amazing value
Size: 6 Person
Wow. So dry. So airy. This 6 person dome tent was $67 and it’s amazing. We stayed on Assateague island right next to the ocean and it stayed put through a torrential downpour and tornado watch. The inside was bone dry. We used an extra guy line, sand screw anchors, and weighed down the upwind corners from the inside with the cooler and water totes. Our neighbors spent the next day airing out all of their flooded gear. The exposed walls inside didn’t feel the slightest bit damp during the storm. Not a drop. Even with the door and window closed it had amazing ventilation. The mesh of the inside ends just above the outer rainfly and the mesh area is huge. It would be too breezy for winter camping or using an air conditioner, but it’s perfect for warm weather. ... show more

  • Great Tent
Size: 6 Person
Great value. Trent is very similar to Coleman tent. I used it for a week long camping trip where it absolutely poured rain, buckets. The tent was bone dry. Seems to be of good quality.

  • Good tent with 2 major caveats
Size: 4 Person
Look, decent tent for the cost. Two things make this not usable for me. (1) the rainfly needs one more tie down on two sides to keep it tight instead the rainfly slaps the tent at night waking me up. (2) the door zipper only has one zipper so you have to open bottom to top which is a problem when there is water on the outside. ... show more
