    • Design flaw if you need the "window" to be on a particular side

Cover seems to be good quality, but there's a major design flaw. The way the cover is designed means that the "window" has to be on the right side of the crate when you are facing it, which doesn't work for where I have the crate in the room (the window would open onto a wall, which sort of defies the point). I thought I could just "flip" the cover around, but the other side can't be rolled up all the way. It's possible you could work around this because this end does unzip on one side, allowing a triangular "tent flap" style opening, but for my crate the door wouldn't open easily in that setup. Interesting because it seems all Amazon would need to do is mirror the design on both of the shorter ends so it would work no matter how the crate is placed in a room. There's also a pocket on one side, which seems a bit pointless. Would have rather seen that be another "window" or have both ends be able to be rolled up. ... show more

This thing is horrible. It has no way to fasten to the crate itself rendering wide open for the dog to destroy. On day one he managed to get at the cover that is made to simply roll over the top and completely rip it off. I would not recommend. I would not buy again. I would truly like my money back, but know it’s a long shot. ... show more

The first picture is of the cover I have had for over 2 years on the Amazon basic kennel I have had for over 3 years. Clearly they hold up over time, and can be very long lasting if treated right. The second cover that is shredded is on the kennel that I bought a few months ago to help train my sisters dog. Clearly it's not held up so well. Turns out my sister knew her dog destroyed everything she could reach in her kennel, and unlike I did with my dog (zipped it up fully every time until he was past that habit) she simply left it unzipped and went to bed. Clearly the cover didnt survive. I'm buying a new one today and will be working with both her and the dog on breaking the bad kennel training habits they acquired and I have high hopes the cover will last this time. ... show more

Used over a 42” metal crate for my pup with major separation anxiety. She has pulled every sheet, towel, and blanket through the wires and shredded them. So far, this cover is fitted so well that she can’t pull anything through. Be aware of the velcro straps though, they were tucked inside once and she took a small piece of one off. ... show more

Thought this was the one...until the 2nd day when my dog pulled the inside Velcro straps (they lay flat under the cover up against the crate when not engaged), which allowed her to pull part of the cover into the crate . She ate the zipper & Velcro tabs that time. The next time she managed to get a small piece of the top (folded back across the top of the crate since she ate the Velcro straps to keep it up) & pulled the entire front into the crate. Overall I think it’s a great product for the price. I gave it 4 stars be it is baked with plastic & does not breath... it’s winter now but think that could be a problem in summer. ... show more

    • Fits my pups 36" crate like a glove!

For the price, the cover was really more than I expected. I love the option to use either the side, or front door of the crate. The fabric is nice and strong, but not too "heavy". My dachshund tends to resource guard his crate from the cats, and this gives me the option to let him sleep in his covered "den" without having to see those pesky kitties. When he has his meals or special treats, I can crate him and use the conveniently Velcroed tabs to keep an eye on him but still give him the privacy that he seems to need to feel comfortable with the mesh "window" sewn in. I don't like that I have to completely unzip the side to access the opening door, but it's not a huge inconvenience. It's a little harder to dry, but easy enough to wash! ... show more

I would give 4 stars if this actually fit. I got the 30 inch for my standard 30 inch crate (the basic petsmart one) and only 3/4 of the sides can zip at once, which is kind of a problem if you are trying to get it as dark as possible in the crate. If it did fit, it wouldnt be a 5 star still because the velcro straps annoyingly are impossible to get away from the dog inside the crate. The velcro straps are meant to be used to hold up the rolled cover but it is also on the sides, not just the front. I guess they do it in case you have a crate that opens from the side, but I will probably have to cut all the straps that are not to hold up the front. Material seems sturdy but the zippers seem like the kind that could split relatively easily so we'll see how it holds up ... show more

    • Dog chewed it through the cage on the first day

I'll add a photo later, but i put this over my dog's cage, in the past we have put blankets, but the dog gets ahold of them and chews up. We put our dog in her cage for 10 minutes for a break from playing with the kids, and she was able to pull this cover through the cage and tear 1/4th of one of the sides to shreds. Looks like we are gonna be looking for a cover that is actually durable. ... show more
