I bought this recently in July 2022. It came with chemical smell, that I read about others mentioning in the reviews. It did not smell terrible to me, but it smelled. I let it sit for 48 hours in a spacious living room before putting up in my room. Still smelled after that. Having put a blanket to cover it. The smell did go away. However, it did not go away if you put your head off your pillow and your nose falls on the mattress. You will still smell that smell. And this is now still in December of 2022 as I am putting this review. I may just put it in the living room again or outside if that does not take the smell away. I have been using it. It's a nice spongy, cushiony feel, hugs your body. I purchased it since my zinus green tea memory foam mattress was a bit on the stiff side, and I could only sleep on it if I am really tired. I'll start by saying that I learned this topper (the medium one) is way too soft for me by sleeping on it for about a week, but that's not the topper's fault. Out of the box it had no significant scent like some of the other reviewers mentioned. It was hefty enough that it didn't move once it was on the mattress. It was soft and squishy (and if it didn't give me back pain because of how soft it was, I would have loved it). The "cooling" part of the product description is a straight up lie, and although I didn't expect much for the price point, I didn't expect it to retain more body heat than my budget mattress. In the end I removed it desperate need of comfort (both for my back and it's summer), but it didn't go to waste. It's made a very comfy set of pillows and a headboard cushion. In the end, most of the problem was me, and if you like to sink into the top of your mattress that doesn't stay cool, you might like this topper. ... show more

Although there was a divot about an inch and a half wide, it was maybe half an inch deep. I decided to put that end near our feet. It was not shipped all that compressed, and was full 2" height almost right away. That there was no smell was important to me. It provided the extra support and cushioning our old topper was no longer supplying. It is soft, not firm. (We found memory foam to be a bit hot, and it resists moving around hence the latex alternative choice.) Still runs a bit warm. I use a feather bed topper over it for that pillow feel. 2" of this beats 2" of egg crate foam for support. I will need deeper pocket sheets though. ... show more

The Serta iSeries mattress we bought this month was supposed to be the medium. After it was delivered, we discovered it is the firm even though the tag reads it is the medium. If this mattress is a medium, I’d hate to see what the firm is like. Yes, we went back to the store where we purchased the mattress but they had nothing else we wanted in stock! The delivery guys had dragged our old mattress through the snow and mud (we tried to get our old mattress back). The customer service there was another issue I won’t go into. This pad made our bed much more comfortable and provided a better night's sleep. It fit our King size bed just right. Considering the cost, we think it should have included a protective cover but it did not. The only complaint we have is that it was delivered with a 2 inch tear in it. I purchased this because my mattress is getting old and I just needed something to give it a little more life as opposed to getting a whole other mattress. Its very comfortable, feels great, but does not give me near the firm support I was hoping for and need. I slept two nights on it and had back pain both days afterwards. Haven't used it since.
