I love how this has made a little corner of "grandma's house" special for visiting grandchildren. They immediately go to this corner when they come over. Everything is easily accessible for them, and it holds a good quantity of toys, books and puzzles. Decent looking piece of furniture, even in the living room. Box says it will take 2 people 30 minutes to assemble. 65 year old grandma did it by myself but it did take me almost an hour (and I'm pretty good with these kind of things, and have all the necessary tools). For the price, this shelf can’t be beat. It’s the perfect height for my 18 month old, and the bin design in the bottom makes his toys easily accessible. We don’t keep a ton of toys in the living room, but it holds a surprising amount in a very organized way. It’s a great addition to the room, and doesn’t look cheap or poorly made. Now for the negative: the instruction booklet was missing two entire pages. Thankfully there is a digital copy on the Amazon storefront, but why even waste paper if it’s going to be missing steps? The entire booklet was also very obviously photocopied from another. Finally, I’ve put together my fair share of furniture, and the nails supplied for attaching the back to the rest of the shelf are the sorriest excuse for nails I have ever seen. They are so thin and flimsy that they would break in half with one swipe of the hammer. This has to be a known issue because they supply twice the number of these pathetic nails than what is needed for assembly. This shelf is great! My daughter is 18 months and before we got this shelf we were storing her toys in baskets all over the living room and on the bottom shelf connected to the coffee table🫢 The house was just a messy play room! Now I keep all her toys on this shelf and she even knows how to clean them up herself because she knows exactly where they go! Amazing! Pros: easy setup and neat way of putting toys away for your child. The finish and look is very clean. Cons: The nails with the wood weren't the best idea. If you aren’t careful with where you put in a nail it will split the wood. The placement for the nails could’ve been better as well. I think Amazon can improve and take some ideas from IKEA. This is a very durable, sturdy, simple and easy to assemble piece. I was able to put it together by myself in less than 20 minutes once all the pieces were laid out. It’s perfect for our needs.
