They have a very rich, satin type of black coating which really makes you feel like you have ordered a gourmet beverage at a 5 -Star resort! LOL! These are nice mugs, not very heavy, wash well in a dishwasher and keeps the drink hot. I love having these for whenever we have guests over or hosting a party as I dislike the look of mismatched mugs. Perfect price point for such good quality mugs.

Exceptional value considering the quantity and quality of these mugs. After inspecting all of the mugs, I only found one tiny chip and one blemish in the glaze. At under $2 a cup at the time of my purchase, this is still a great deal. The mugs are large and durable, and black goes with pretty much any kitchen decor. They’re dishwasher safe, easy to clean and comfortable to hold. Good bargain for 12 mugs.

My partner has been complaining for months that I didn't have any decent coffee mugs around. I typically use a large insulated travel mug that keeps 32oz of coffee hot all day. She prefers to drink smaller servings, from an open mug. So when I saw these, I had to grab them! And I have to say, they're very nice mugs. Heavy, with a perfect handle. Nice, big mugs for a good cup of coffee or hot chocolate or tea or your hot beverage of choice. Even soup! There are twelve in the package, I've only unboxed six because I don't need all twelve at once. But, I've got an entire box of spares in case I happen to break one! These are a very good value for the price, and a quality mug!

This stoneware mug set came very well packaged for safe delivery during transit. The quality of the mugs are pretty basic. They are made out of your basic stone/ceramic type material... and are a comfortable weight as you'd expect. They are a nice matte black color and average size for what you'd expect. My biggest gripe is probably the "Amazon Basics" label engraved in white on the very bottom of each one of the mugs included. This label actually makes these mugs seem a lot less quality and about as "basic" as the labels themselves read. I feel like a branded sticker would have been a much better way to promote the brand on each cup, that way we could at least remove the sticker from the mug prior to use and avoid any awkward labeling. I don't know yet whether or not I will even end up getting any use out of these mugs... particularly due to the tacky engraving on the bottoms.. but for those who don't mind something like that being permanently engraved on the bottom of each mug.. these mugs might be a great option for you.

This is a set of 12 mugs. The mugs are black in color. They are quite sturdy, and thick, made of ceramic. The mugs hold up well in the microwave and the handle doesn't seem to get hot when heating liquids. They also survived the dishwasher well, although I'm not sure if they are dishwasher safe. On the bottom of each mug, it says Amazon basics, instead of saying whether or not the mugs are microwave or dishwasher safe. I would much prefer that it told me whether or not I can safely put them in the dishwasher microwave, rather than telling me that it comes from Amazon. However, in spite of this, I like the mugs. They are a good size for holding a beverage. They work for both hot and cold beverages, they are sturdy, they look quite nice, and seem like they will hold up well. The handle is also a good size for your hand. I really like the mugs, I just wish it was more clear if they are okay to put in the dishwasher and microwave even though I have been already.

I like my coffee mugs to be a little heavy. I feel that it makes them sturdier and I don't have to worry about being so delicate with them. These mugs are great! The hold a lot of coffee and keep it hot for a decent amount of time. They are sturdy and I love the color. I replaced all my mugs with this set and couldn't be happier.
