  • Same as Miralax at half the cost
This was perfect for traveling. Pre-measured packets to go. Very cost effective and works as well as the expensive Miralax products

  • Packets are handy for travel and for controlling dosages.
I buy this based solely off of price since it is quite literally just a chemical that is exactly the same across brands. It works by retaining water in the stool so it remains soft (osmotic laxative). It can take a couple days to really work, so requires a bit of patience, but it is less harsh on your system than stimulant laxatives. This is exactly the same stuff as Miralax or whatever brand of Polyethylene Glycol 3350 you buy. The 3350 refers to the average molecular weight. Usual dose is 17 grams a day (which is one of these packets) Dissolves well enough in hot water that you will not notice it (tea, coffee). Will dissolve in any liquid at 55C (131F) readily. It is drinkable in cold liquids but will not dissolve as well., These individual packets are useful for travel, but a little more expensive. However, after having TSA get bent out of shape when I had put some of this in a bottle for travel (apparently a vial of white powder is problematic) I am happy to pay a little extra for convenience. ... show more

  • Exactly the same as competition
This is the exact same product as the competition - be it the name brand or off-label/store brand. Looks the same, functions the same... so for the most part, it comes down to price. Except with these - they're probably going to be a bit more expensive because they are more convenient - no measuring, and you can take these on the go if you want. I'm not entirely sure how much I'd take these on the go (ie, if I'm on a road trip, do I want to be taking this and need to make some potentially urgent unplanned stops?) That said, if you need this on the go, these are very useful. All in all, works as you'd expect, but the individually wrapped give it a little bonus of convenience. ... show more

  • No more measuring as it's done for you and it's very portable.
I've got a daughter with Encopresis and we've lived on Mira-lax everyday for the last year. I usually buy the large bottles and we go through about one a month, per her specialists orders. This takes the measuring out of the picture and makes it much more portable. When she's at the grandparents or has a babysitter, I don't have to worry about showing them how much to use for her, it's premeasured. It absolutely makes things easier. It does come in a huge box so if you don't have room for storage, the bottles are space saving. This seems to keep her regular and on track. She hasn't said that she notices any difference in the taste, or lack thereof, and it mixes just like the stuff we've been using. It dissolves much better into eight ounces but for her sometime I do it in four ounces of a strong juice just to get it in her more quickly. Overall, I just really like the fact that there is no guess work to be done! ... show more

  • NOT a laxitive
I mean, there is no surprise rush to the facilities. It bulks you up and softens things to send them on their way. Of course, something tells me getting my fiber from honest-to-goodness food full of real nutrition instead of PLASTIC should be the way to go, but this is the 21st century and I have to move with the times, pun intended. It IS a plastic. You are mixing it up with water sending plastic through your system! Sounds bad! ... but it isn't. Your body doesn't digest it, gives it the water it needs to bulk it up to fiber status, and kind of carries all the other stuff in your gut along with it-- bon voyage waste. If you need action NOW, this is not for you. Also, if you are repelled by the slimy "nothingness" of the texture, mix it with veggies or fruit for a smoothie. You are not supposed to use it for more than 7 days, and thankfully, this is just an occasional remedy around here, but I think you could use it far longer. Those medical warnings err on the side of hyper-caution. ... show more

  • Individual packets of powdered laxative
Amazon basic car clearly. Per my family members this works good. The flavor is not really noticeable in juice or other flavored beverage. I was told if you add it to juice it goes down with no flavor issues. The product works as well as the big box store brand. This is a big box so you will have some for awhile. I received a box of 100 individual packets. They are easy to take out of the box and disperse into water or juice. The packets are easy to open and are quit handy much better than a bottle of powder you have to then measure out. Good quality powdered laxative. ... show more

  • Good for traveling
My daughter uses this under the supervision of her GI doc due to poor development of her GI musculature. This is not as effective for her as the brand name, but it isn't ineffective, either. We've oddly noticed a difference with other store brands as well. We typically are hugely supportive of generic products, but this one is our good for travel brand as it is cheaper than the brand. Day to day we'll stick with the brand name. ... show more

  • Each Dose Individually Wrapped!
This is essentially a Polyethylene Glycol at a fraction of the price the other name brands sell it for. Whether it is a laxative or stool softener is a matter of debate. My take on it is, if you're looking for a laxative, and it works for you as a laxative, use it; if you're looking for a stool softener, and it works for you as a stool softener, use it. Our biology is a very individual thing. So if you've never used Polyethylene Glycol, there's only one way to find out if it works for you. It works for some people, but not others. I like that each dose if INDIVIDUALLY wrapped. This will greatly increase the shelf life of the product. It should be good for years despite the "official" shelf life. Just make sure to keep it away from heat and direct sunlight. ... show more
