I previously owned an Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch. I liked it, but it was a bit bulky, the screen was small, and the interface was not as user-friendly as I had expected. This Amazfit Balance, however, is much improved. It is slim but has a bigger screen, with a larger area that allows a better interface and touch experience. I have had no issues at all navigating the menus and functions. I have also linked the watch with my Pixel phone, and get notifications on any texts or calls that I receive, and have the option to respond on the watch, or later on my phone if I prefer. The battery life is incredible. After the first 3 days of use, the battery was still at 80 percent. I only need to charge once a week at the most. The only issue I have had is the Zepp app. There are so many options that it takes quite a while to tailor it to the individual's needs. I did, however, find a neat steampunk watch face that I like among many that are available online. This watch has become my constant companion, and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and functional device. ... show more

Started with Jabba band about 15 years ago. Went to Fitbits soon after and just left them last year. Loved the app and the community. But hated the sleep functionality. It was far ahead of the others at the time, but I hated how it handled the numbers. I will admit the balance does seem to be a tad more generous than Fitbit, but at least I am not waking up mad. I love how it gives an audio review of your just finished workout. I love how bright and colorful and readable the watch is. I LOVE how it connects to the phone way more often that all my other watches. It's not perfect but it is by far the best. I love how after I wake up it give me a report on the goals I reached or didn't reach the day before. (I always reach my goals) I love how, within the app they have a way to give feedback to the developers. I love the battery life (I usually recharge around 10 days, with 20% left) I love how for a new watch, there were a lot of watch faces to choose from. I don't like how ugly the app is. (a lot of details, that are not really user friendly, but I am mostly used to it by now) I don't like how I still haven't figured out how to get all my notifications and phone calls (some but not all-is it an apple /android problem?). I don't like that I have yet to find alternative bands (new watch so there's that). Still, I really like this watch. It's comfortable to wear to bed. Activating specific workouts is the easiest I have encountered yet. And with my watch face, I can EASILY read time, steps, date, weather, battery life, and heart rate. No squinting. And I got stigmatisms. I titled my post . . .It connects the most. I love my apple phone, tried others but for me apple is the best. So even though most smart watches say they work with IOS, well, it seems like they have to go through some heavy diplomacy in order to connect to my phone. Sometimes I would trick my iPhone to recognize my Fitbit by trying to sync with my iPad. And then the iPhone would get jealous and then it would recognize my Fitbit. And I had a ton of Fitbits from the zip up to the Versa two. The Amazefit balance does not connect right away all the time, but it eventually connects. In short, I have gone hours without connecting to my iPhone with other watches. Thus far with the Balance it is only for a few minutes when I have trouble connecting. ... show more

    • Great Fitness Tracker & Smart Watch, Poor Sleep Tracker

Starting off, the design of the device itself is very nice and the watch feels very premium. ZeppOS has very little lag and very feature rich. It felt like my Galaxy Watch5 in terms of features, but nicer looking (in my opinion) and incredibly better battery life. Looking at the rated 14 days, I assumed it wouldn’t have many features or the UI would be very sluggish. The UI is simple, easy to use, and fluid. Everything worked well and seemed fairly accurate. For me there were only three downsides. Two were minor gripes and the other was a dealbreaker. The first gripe is, on android you have to have the Zepp app running at all times in order for notifications to be forwarded to the watch. The second gripe is that there is no setting for your heart rate to be monitored continuously with the shortest interval being 1 minute. The dealbreaker for me was the sleep tracking is not very accurate at all. It would report that I was sleeping as soon as I got into bed. In the mornings, I like to sit up and catch up on notifications and social media, usually 15-30 minutes. It reports this time in the morning as not just sleep, but deep sleep. I have sleep issues I’m trying to resolve so decent sleep tracking is a must. Overall I really wanted this to work for me. If you are looking for a smart watch/fitness tracker, this is the decision to make over any Android WearOS watch unless, like me, you really value sleep tracking. This watch easily punches above its price range and I preferred it greatly over my Polar Ignite 3 Titanium. ... show more
