A great key light I should have bought sooner to replace one that was fixed on too low of Kelvin. Well-designed product, easy to use with limited practice, joints are tight. The app works great (although limited use) and I'm really happy with this bad boy even at 75% + diffusion with a softbox. In the photo is the 360c (left), with a Neewer softbox, compared with the 120C and it's included mini softbox. Both lights are set to 50% power, 4500K. It's quality from top to bottom, even the cord is made of more flexible rubber than the cord on the Amaran 120C. Top gripe, and this is minor: there is very little room in the case for anything additional. You have a little space where the cord goes, and the area inside the snoot. That's it. So I jam in a 3-prong converter, and a short extension cord. The case is made from a high end styrofoam; unsure how long it will hold up.

I never had the other 300c model but this one is definitely awesome. Super easy to use, very bright and colorful. I’ve mostly been using it as a bi-color light for now.

I’ve been really impressed with the amaran Ray 360c so far and have no complaints. For a 360W light, I really like how compact and easy to set up it is. It doesn’t take up a huge amount of space, and getting it ready to use is quick and straightforward. It also feels like a well-built piece of equipment without being unnecessarily bulky or difficult to move around. One of my favorite features is how quiet it is. I’ve had the light running for hours with the fan on, and it’s so quiet that I can barely hear it. That’s especially important for video work where unwanted fan noise can be distracting. The RGB functionality and 12 built-in effects give you plenty of options for creating different looks, while the ability to adjust the light gives you flexibility for everything from everyday filming to more creative setups. I also like having both app and DMX control, which makes adjusting the light convenient whether you’re working directly with it or controlling it as part of a larger lighting setup. Another thing I appreciate is that it gives you the power of a 360W light without feeling like you’re dealing with a massive studio fixture. It’s easy to incorporate into a smaller filming space, but still gives you plenty of flexibility when you want to build out your lighting setup with modifiers or additional lights. After using it for extended sessions, I’ve been especially happy with how easy it is to work with. It’s the kind of light I can set up and use without having to constantly fuss with it, which is exactly what I want from my equipment. Overall, this is a powerful light in a surprisingly compact package. It’s easy to set up, versatile, well-built, and exceptionally quiet even during extended use. The RGB capabilities, effects, app/DMX control, and 360W output make it a very flexible option for content creators, photographers, and video work. I’ve been very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, versatile RGB video light that is compact and quiet enough to use for long filming sessions. 5 stars from me!

The Ray 360c is an impressive amount of light in a relatively straightforward monolight package. The 360W output gives it enough power to be genuinely useful with modifiers rather than feeling like an RGB light that happens to accept a Bowens mount. With the included reflector, there's plenty of output for illuminating a subject or filling a small studio, and the Bowens mount makes it compatible with a huge range of existing modifiers. The all-in-one design is particularly nice. Having the power supply built into the fixture means there isn't a separate brick sitting on the floor or hanging from a light stand, which makes the setup considerably cleaner. It's also substantially easier to move around than some high-output fixtures with large external power supplies. Color performance is another strong point. The RGB output gives you considerably more flexibility than a conventional daylight/tungsten COB, while the white light is capable of producing natural-looking skin tones rather than looking obviously colored or artificial. The Ray 360c is probably more light than many people actually need, but that's hardly a criticism of the fixture itself. For video, photography, studio work, or anyone who wants one powerful Bowens-mount light that can also do full RGB, it's a very capable piece of equipment. And the fact that it comes in a mobile CASE rather than a cardboard box is just icing on the cake.
