Comparing this with my 1000Watt Tungsten Arri light, and I must say this Amaran puts out quite a bright output........without the heat produced like my 1k Arri. The internal cooling fan is rather quiet; I can hear it if I put my ear next to it, but I don't hear it as I step further away.........it's not a sound issue for me, whatsoever. I bought this as a result of the price, and checking out lots of positive consumer reviews, both here and on Youtube. I didn't expect to like this unit as much as I do.......it's now become my go-to light (Daylight color temperature) I'm totally buying myself another one.

The Amaran 100d LED Video Light is an awesome and affordable light for photo and video. I found the Amaran to be very quiet. This light also has gradual luminance knob that can be adjusted subtly. Set up is a breeze. I purchased my light from Pergear as a preorder. There were small production delays and Pergear kept me informed on my orders progress. In the end my package arrived on the last day of the estimated arrival time. I live in the US and the light shipped from across the globe. My order was packed up superbly. Customer service is impressive. I recommend the light and you can have confidence with Pergear.

It's a nice light, OK, but the percentage brightness display has a glitch -- the bottom segment of both digits are bad. See photo. I clicked Amazon's "Product Support" button, but the Aputure site said they don't support people who buy the product from 3rd parties. Oh, well. All I can do is report it here in this review. If the problem doesn't get any worse, I can live with it. Or even if all the segments go out, I could still use the light by just eyeballing the brightness. It's a great, bright light, and with the Light Dome SE softbox, it does just what I needed.

I shoot at different locations and hate lugging too much gear. 3 of these weigh less than my Aperture 300 and put out all the power I need for a 3-light set. No remote, so you'll have to adjust levels by hand, but c'mon - how hard is that, peaches? Get a couple of domes and you're good. Fan noise has never been picked up on mic even when mic is close to hair light.
