  • Good stuff
This is intended for repairing kilns and firebricks. Not for repairing pottery. It makes a nice strong bond, albeit a dark gray when it dries and it cured.

  • Good for shallow repairs, cracks on 1/4" gouges/divots
Great for very shallow grooves or marring. On larger gouges, even mixed with firebrick powder, it cracks after curing. Hoping it holds up well enough over time.

  • Pottery fix after firing
Firing pottery sometimes leaves cracks and/or holes. This cement fixes that problem. My pottery prof was impressed and is going to buy some for the studio. The only problem is it is black - if you are glazing a light color it is impossible to cover the fix! Wish it also came in a light color.

  • excellent for quick repairs
I used this product to repair the lid of my ceramic smoker. I broke it into 10 or so pieces, I checked how much it would cost to replace just the lid, $300, plus $100 for shipping- total of $400- so I saw this ready to use kiln cement that would withstand the high heat of the smoker. I gave it a try- only $11, pieced together the smoker lid and it works good as new!! ... show more

I used this to fill and repair cracks in my terracotta pots and used as directed the repair is rock hard. I used clay pots to build a smoker and the smoke was leaking through the cracks. While it's not being used for it's primary purpose it works just as well on red clay and I don't mind that the color of the cement is gray, it does the job. ... show more

  • Prepared Kiln Cement
I had a small kiln that had several cracked bricks and chips in the firing chamber. I used this cement to seal the cracks, re glue the broken bricks back together, and with crushed fire brick added, patch the chipped and flaking areas. It worked very well. Good product.
