    • Fast, Reliable, and Works with Every Drive I Own!
Style: Y-3322C
The Alxum USB 3.0 to IDE/SATA Converter is exactly what I needed for quick, reliable access to older hard drives. I had a mix of old 2.5" and 3.5" HDDs — both SATA and IDE — and this adapter handled them all without a hiccup. Setup was a breeze: simply plug it in, connect your drive, and your computer recognizes it instantly. The included power supply is solid and delivers enough juice for larger drives. Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are excellent, making big file transfers quick and painless. ... show more

    • Stopped working after one year.
Style: Y-3322C
I bought this in June 22, 2021 and after about one year or mid 2022, it stopped recognizing my 4TB WD RED Plus SATA hard disk.....The WD RED Plus worked fine pluged into the motheroboard sata but not plugged into this adapter. Curiously, two 480GB Hyundai SATA SSD were still recognized but no multi terabyte hard drives. A 640GB SATA HDD was recognized. So, it gets one star......... ... show more

    • This thing works!
Style: Y-3322C
I've had a huge dead Macintosh Computer in the attic with all my photos from the previous century on several 2TB hard drives inside. I saw an advert for a tiny contraption that could take those hard drives and switch them to USB. I did a Reddit search to see if it really worked and Redditors pointed out Alxum was the cheapest and simplest. Simple? I really didn't need directions on how to plug USB and power cord into it and the SATA connection had multiple ways but one was the obvious fit. 30 seconds later I am scrolling through photos I had not seen in years. Apple Hard Drives have been slide out and swap forever so not even a screwdriver was necessary. I now have several 2TB drives as back up storage that I can plug in any time. This thing is a magical device for someone who has not kept up with the tech. ... show more

    • I was able ot get it to do the job I needed. Struggled with using it on my Windows 11 PCs.

I'd really make it a 3.5 out of 5. I had issues with it working with my Windows PCs (may be me...may not be me) However, it worked great on my MacBook, and as advertised there.
