*Edit* After using the sticks the bottom will kick out if the stick sags down the tree much at all. I took a drill bit that barely fit in the Versa Button hole and drilled out new holes exactly 2" down. I still think they are a good stick and am buying another set so I can carry six with me. These steps are great. Very solid construction. You have to assemble one of the sticks. So while you are putting that one together, go through and tighten all the stand-off screws and step screws really tight on the other three sticks. Using an aider trick that goes around the right boot, then hooks on the button or top step, I can easily get four feet between sticks. Or, you can use a single aider on just the bottom step and still get high enough up the tree. I stacked the sticks on top of each other, and they are right at six feet tall. So even 18" between sticks, with an 18" aider on bottom will get you 15' in the air. ... show more

The product looks well built, packaged nice and comes with great instructions. However, on the second test set up, I had a U-bracket break at the stick connection. The bracket broke in half where the fastener goes through. I’m not sure if it was faulty upon arrival. Maybe the bolt was over tightened and caused a weak spot..?? Either way it was attached to the tree and I had all my weight (205 lbs) on it when it snapped. The instructions tell you not to jump or bounce to set the stick, which I didn’t. I have requested an exchange for a second set, being I couldn’t find info to request a new bracket. I’ll provide an update on how the second set works out. ... show more

Never had a good quality set of sticks so I’m not really sure where these fall on the line of quality and durability but I do know they seem to be built decent and hold my weight well enough for me to jump on them I’m about 265lb they don’t seem to try and kick out on me or slip they bite good in my opinion I will say if you get them go ahead and order the versa loop n lock system for them because the ratchet strap system is not ideal to be fighting with when your hanging in a tree early in the morning but overall I like them they could be lighter but there not terrible ... show more

I purchased these at the start of bow season excited I instantly went out put them in a tree and loved them. As I got to use them I noticed 2 key things that are “life threatening” the first being the bolts becoming loose over time no matter how many times you tighten them and the second being they kick out from under you and can potentially as they did for me make you fall out the tree!
