Checked all clamps and connections and tried to prime nothing worked!! Couldn't return because it’s past return allowance. This pump vapor locked after pumping about 25 gallons. It would lock up after using it and when I went to turn the handle it sheared off so it is trash now. Waste of money

This thing was a huge blessing for this momma! Instead of a short hose and buckets to remove rain water off the pool cover. The hose is long enough I can get it going and leave it. Was very simple to use, but I was already mouth siphoning the water with a short hose, so the concept was already understood. The most important thing to know is to get ALL the air out, and it will flow. High-quality hose and pump. The materials used will hold up for a long time. Absolutely worth the price!

These pumps work reasonably well, at least for diesel which is all I have used them for. They are not cheap. Now the lightweight aluminum pipe sections screw together with very, very fine threads. Thanks to my brother who cross threaded the second pipe, unbeknowst to me, and that lower part dropped off into the full barrel where it still remains. No wonder the pump quit working after I got about fifteen gallons out. The moral of this story is put it together very carefully... alone. Turn the handle away from you and it takes a few turns before the liquid you are pumping flows. You should probably check that screen on the bottom of the pipe every time you switch barrels. This is not heavy duty at all so treat it carefully. Do not allow anyone to show how "tough" they are and really crank and spin that handle. We will see how long it lasts. You might want to clamp a longer hose to the output pipe. I found that plastic accordian pipe to not be useful.

I’ll start by saying that this thing is caked with grease inside. If you plan to use it for anything other than oil, you will want to run degreaser through it first to clean it out. It pumps washer fluid pretty well after about 3-4 full rotations. The threads are not correct so it doesn’t thread into my barrel properly. I had to cross thread it to just barely make it sturdy. Snag one if you need it.

For what I paid for to use this it's worth every penny, once you got it going the flow is pretty much consistent. Size is decent, The appearance is straightforward, suction definitely is good, and the performance definitely is up there
