I really like this cleaning kit. The pull through cloths are a good size and material to effectively dry the different parts of your sax. I like that there are two different sizes of pull through cloths, so students aren't trying to pull too large of a cloth through the neck or mouthpiece, or even worse, just not cleaning those parts. The brushes are nice too, the bigger one for things like inside the mouthpieces and the smaller one for any little nooks and crannies you might need to get into. I was confused at first as to the use of the small cloths that aren't pull through, but it appears that those are for drying the pads of the keys if you happen to get moisture in them. I haven't tried the thumb support, so I'm not sure how well that will work. It does at least feel reasonably sturdy and the material is comfortable to have against the skin. The mouthpiece patches are a nice addition. Like any instrument, different players will swear by different things (in this case, thickness and material of mouthpiece patches and whether to use any at all), but these are definitely good for a beginner and possibly a more advanced player depending on their preferences. I love that it all comes in a case, so it doesn't get buried or tangled floating around in the storage section of my sax case.

Having recently started playing the saxophone after a long absence, I was eager to purchase this item. My alto saxophone was in need of some TLC and this kit really helped. This kit is very useful and innovative. The pull through cloth is absolutely genius, I don't know why I have never seen one before. An excellent way to thoroughly clean and dry the inside of your saxophone. The mouthpiece brushes are also such a great idea. Back when I was playing sax regularly there was no such thing, I can't imagine playing without thoroughly cleaning now. The kit comes in its own carrying case, which is super helpful and handy for packing with your sax. I love this kit and consider it essential for any saxophone player, infact, I also play the trumpet and the cloths would be super helpful for that as well. At such a reasonable price and such a handy size go ahead and buy this kit, you won't regret it.

For as long as I've played the alto saxophone, I thought I knew all about keeping my instrument clean and well taken care of. This kit has enlightened me on so many aspects that I had never thought about. At 74 I've grown lazy in taking care of my sax since I only use it to play at church twice a month. The pictures in their pamphlet are so helpful to remind me of how at 12 yrs old when I first started playing the sax I had been so careful in taking care of my instrument. I'd never had a thumb cushion before, but now with joint issues, especially with my thumbs, this is such a blessing. The mouthpiece and dust brushes were new to me, but definitely will be used regularly. The list for daily maintenance and cleaning helps me to remember that each time I play my sax, I have certain care routines that need to be followed. The case to keep all my cleaning supplies together fits nicely into my sax case so I don't have to look for the right tools after playing.

Things that are given with sax players. Spit swabs are a necessity and they don’t last long and if you don’t take care of your horn, it won’t last long or worse it will start to smell funky. This kit has a really nice variety of cleaning tools. A big one for the horn, a small one for the neck and most important for me, a good cleaning brush with some fabric for the mouthpiece. After years of the old school feather duster swabs, I’ve just been using micro fiber cloths and it makes things much easier to clean (no lint pieces) and they last longer than the old school swabs. This kit comes in at a great price too with it’s own case that has enough space to stash reeds and gummies and a little bottle of mouth wash since I don’t to chance stank breath breathing down my horn.

The media could not be loaded. For the longest time, I mainly used the long form style saxophone cleaner, that doubles as a storage assistance if left inside the horn. I now do not use that style as much and also do not keep them within the saxophone, while not in use. I now mainly use the pads with the string attached to them. The Ancable brand, has provided a neat little kit that contains several of the micro fiber style cleaning pads with the pull string, as well as other accessories, such as mouthpiece guards and a thumb protector. The mouthpiece guards are an artform in them selves because they can affect your embochure. That's not a bad thing, because I take it more like a challenge to maintain the right sound while using the pad based protector. I have a problem with grinding the plastic upper section of the mouthpiece, to the point where it becomes a serious dent. These mouthpiece guards will 100 percent prevent that sort or damage, not just on the mouthpiece but for your teeth as well. I like the travel case this comes with, because i tend to lose smaller items such as the cloths. My cats also like to bat around small things such as these cleaning items, so the case it great to keep all the stuff protected and contained, within the zipper based case that is nearly pocket sized. The price of this kit was affordable. This makes for a good gift to a fellow saxophone player as well.

The cloths are just the right size—easy to handle and fit into any case without taking up much space. I’ve used them after every practice session, and they’ve helped keep my sax looking polished and clean, with less buildup around the pads and keys. Over time, I’ve even noticed a slight improvement in sound clarity, probably from better-maintained keypads.
