I started playing the tenor saxophone about 4 weeks ago. I noticed a build up of spit and all that gross stuff and it was getting difficult to put the instrument together (so obviously cleaning it is important). Since using this product, I can safely say that it has gotten LESS dirty and easier to put together, HOWEVER there are a couple dos and do nots that I have discovered while using this product (which could have been avoided had the product come with usage directions or not misdirecting images. For example, the product image shows someone using the toothbrush looking thing to clean the reed. DO NOT DO THIS- I have cracked my reed slightly by doing so (and I wasn't even brushing hard). I recommend using the smaller cloths to wipe it down. Additionally, the large "weighted" cloth that goes in the main saxophone body part often gets stuck- so do not attempt to pull it all the way through (even when I don't it still gets stuck). I am also not sure how effective it is for you to pull it back and forth within the body- it doesn't get ALL the junk inside, but (the one actually good part about this product) it is certainly a lot cleaner than if I had used nothing. That said, I think just buying an instrument cloth (one large and one small) rather than all this fancy stuff would be much better and cheaper.

So I bet self is good, but small pieces of material for valve cleanup leave fuz behind. I would recommend the swab, but not set.

If the bell pull through had the bristles to keep it expanded it would be perfect (I’ve had to pull it through a few extra times to compensate) Other than that I do highly recommend this kit so far the cloth seams durable, and decently absorbent.
