  • Fat Guy With a Little Pack!
Here is my AAR for this pack: This pack seems to do well, but keep in mind it is an entry level pack. I used it on the tail end of my October deer hunt and it seemed to hold up okay. It didn't fit my Ruger american 30-06 very well as far as holding it to my back. The butt pocket sat way too low to allow my scope to be comfortably retained by the straps. Also my rifle flopped around quite a bit from the hike out of the mountains. The other thing is that the waist belt pocket was in the way of my rifle while i was shoulder carrying it. I have a few other beefs with it, but overall its a decent pack for the price. I've also used it during the fall steel-head run here in Idaho and it held all of my gear quite nicely, I was even able to use one of the quiver straps to hold my hatchet in place (2 degrees Fahrenheit in the mornings). I've got a December archery hunt coming up, so we'll see how it holds up. I haven't tested it with my bow to see if it fits yet, but I have a 40 year old Jennings t-star. Pros: - Roomy main pocket - Can accompany any size water bladder - Is fairly well padded for heavier loads - Quiver straps are multi-use - Zippers seem to be holding up - Waist belt Is well padded - Chest strap is adjustable up and down Cons: - Has no elastic retaining straps except for the shoulder straps and waist belt (which i felt was a cheap out) - My rainfly wasn't stitched very well and came apart upon first use. - Buttstock pocket hangs too low without enough adjust ability up for scopes that sit farther back on the rifle. - Waist belt rides a little high for me. Im 6'1'' (73"), 240lbs and the back support beam doesn't quite fit the length of my back. - D ring is plastic, and I feel that it could have been metal for hanging purposes (I carry a lot of gear for Idaho weather) - Not enough elastic retention straps - Front pocket interior pockets left a little to be desired as far as accessibility For the price its not a bad day bag. I keep a lot of gear with me because of the climate and remoteness of the area that I live in. (No cell service, and I am usually alone in the mountains) This pack has worked pretty well for me, and a lot of the issues that I have with it I can fix myself for little to no cost to me. (helps to know how to sew) I will post photos later to show these deficiencies. 4/5 would recommend to a friend shorter than myself. ... show more

  • You can do anything
Perfect day pack Iโ€™m a saddle hunter and it works great hold everything I need and more if needed of course itโ€™s great and it has a metal rod for back support when holding a slightly heavier load the side gun holster parts are perfect for a Doyleโ€™s gear hoist and back strap for bow/gun is perfect for platform I have a predator xl and itโ€™s great and on the side I Cary my sticks over all itโ€™s perfect great product overall the only flaw I see it the little strap on the chest that come of sometimes I noticed but with a bit of force itโ€™ll go back on ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ hopes this helps you with your buy cause itโ€™s great ... show more

  • Great product.
A little smaller on the inside then expected but it fits all my hunting gear for a day pack very well. And is much cheaper then similar packs.

  • Great pack
I bought this pack for deer season last year and wanted something that would hold my gear and I could pack out a deer. This pack met my expectations. Build quality is great. Pack is made from thick material yet still lightweight. Zippers are pretty strong as well. I really enjoyed the strap the rifle/bow. Great pack for the money! ... show more

  • Good bag for hunting.
Got my bag on time, was a little worried after reading some of the negative reviews BUT to my joy the bag is perfect for my survival day pack that I will use for bow season. Holds bow fine, holds all my day/emergency gear, and fits on my game pack frame for diving into the back country. The bag has a removable metal spine and belt harness comes off. It appears to be ready for going deep and hiking steep. I have taken it out and it holds up well. It does ride a little higher for a big dude's frame 6' 2", but I like it. It holds my stuff and is just what I wanted. I did read one review that said it would not hold your "take". But, it shouldn't, you need a frame and tie downs for that. Taking game is an ordeal that leads to 100s of lbs of meat, think of segmentation and this bag fits right in the mix. ... show more

  • Alps Hunting backpack
I needed a new backpack because my old one zipper broke. I shopped for a while and chose this one for how it is organized. You can put certain items in certain places and it will always be ready when you need them. Well made and comfortable.

  • Great pack!
Love everything about this pack! From build quality to it's configuration. Rides comfortably on my back, putting most of the weight on my hips and not shoulders. Storage compartments are ample for all my bowhunting gear. Have not used the bow holder or rain cover but nice features to have. I hunt the mountains of PA and average 8 to 12 miles per hunt. This pack is perfect. ... show more

  • Good for hunting not for backpacking
Good for 24 hours worth of supplies, though you might be get more out of yours if you are a superb packer. I would suggest will need a bigger bag if you are on a trip that is longer. Over all quality seems to be adequate, and was not discomforted the 3 miles I have hiked with it so far. Was delivered on time. Will update if I run into issues after some more miles. ... show more
