Description

The Camp Creek will provide a luxury home-away-from-home the next time you want to get away. Since it uses fiberglass poles that connect to steel uprights, it provides ample interior space, with almost straight walls, to give you more usable space when you're inside. This is great whether you are setting up cots, or just want more space inside to hang out and play a round of cards before bed. The rainfly provides large awnings over the front door and back window, which is a great feature when it's raining. Available in a 4- or 6-person size, this is a great option for all your camping adventures.

  • Exactly what I was looking for
Color: Charcoal/Blue Size: 6 Person
I almost sent this tent back, because it would not stand up on its own! I shudder at the thought of it now. In the instructions, there is a very small line drawing of three different pole constructions. I identified the incorrect pole and simply used the wrong one to suspend the roof. The pole that suspends the roof looks like a magic wand: it is black with a silver cylinder on one end. It is the pole with the second widest diameter out of all three. So, on my second try -- using the correct pole this time -- the tent went up in approximately 15 minutes. I am a 62-year old woman with osteoarthritis in my knees, and I hoisted this tent by myself. Apart from the misunderstanding regarding which pole is used where, the instructions are clear and the set-up is almost intuitive. I looked at tents for a month, before deciding that this one is perfect for what I want. The center is very high: 84". I am 5' 10" and the adult men in my family are all over 6' 2", so the center height is important. I wanted a 10' x 10' tent so that it fits into a particular spot in my back yard. The walls on this tent are nearly vertical, which gives a lot of room inside. The floor is sturdy enough for my needs. I put a tarp underneath. I like the color. I love the mesh roof for looking at the sky, and there are three very large screen windows for air flow. The fabric is sturdy enough for this type of tent. I notice double-stitching and reinforcements in several different areas. I have not yet put the rain tarp on. After reading the instructions, I don't see there will be any problem with that. My area is getting a rain storm in about four days, so I will be testing its rainproof-edness then. I will also tighten it down for some expected wind from the cold front that is moving in with the rain. All-in-all, a very happy purchase. This tent has all the features I wanted in a tent I could afford. ... show more

  • Roomy, airy, well made tent. And real pretty, too!
Color: Charcoal/Blue Size: 6 Person
We just took this tent camping in the mountains of northeastern Vermont. We were camping next to a lake. When it rained heavily at night a few days of our 4 day stay, we took no water anywhere. When it was very warm in the afternoon sunshine, we opened up all the windows and felt cool breezes. The tent was great for my 6'2" husband, and two Siberian Huskies and me. This tent is the best summer camping tent imaginable. I think it rates high for several categories: a) privacy - because windows are screened and you can adjust the zippers to open and close them to whatever amount of opening you want; b) breathability - this is not a stuffy tent but it was cozy enough with all the windows zipped up for the cool night we had of close to 49 F.,and cool enough for the 87 F afternoons c) water-proof and sturdiness - we were fine even in a couple of brief but heavy downpour thunderstorms that passed through d) aesthetic appeal - it's a real pretty tent with lots of air and light. We kept the rain fly on during our camping trip, but I can imagine how nice it is to have it off. and e) roof height and straight walls rather than slanted/dome was great for a tall person. f) roominess - This tent gave us plenty of room for a queen sized air mattress, two medium large dogs, and our gear. We laid down a thick cotton floor covering for the dogs to lie on. We also used a tarp beneath the tent. g) Well-manufactured - even though we camped and slept in the tent with our dogs, I never worried about their toenails going through the tent. The door and screens are well made. The door zippers are very secure and a flap goes over them for rain protection. There are two substantially sized awnings over the front door and back window of the tent. This is good rain protection. I would highly recommend this tent. It is a good deal for the $$. ... show more

  • Nice, but some design flaws
Color: Charcoal/Blue Size: 6 Person
Due to a few issues detailed below, I have mixed feelings giving this two stars. If not for one serious issue, it would be a four / four and a half (if allowed) tent. Cons: 1. Minor- instructions could be improved. There are better ways to assemble this tent (suggested below) than detailed in the instructions. 2. Minor- included tent stakes are worthless. There are a lot (13 total). I'd pay a little extra to not have to go buy "real" tent stakes (and a ground cloth). 3. Medium- Design flaw. The window flaps have no ties to roll them up or otherwise secure them when unzipped. They just hang down. Might be possible to rig something up. I've never had a tent that didn't have some type of "flap roll" binding. 4. Major- This tent (or at least mine) has a serious flaw that creates a BIG leaking problem. On the right side as you walk in, there's a big "safety" label attached to the tent by sewing it into the seam where the bathtub bottom meets the side (maybe a foot up or so). Where the label is inserted into the seam leaks badly. It doesn't drip water, it streams water that runs down the fabric label and onto the floor. So far, my attempts to seal this leaky seam have not worked. Pros: 1. The tent is tall and roomy enough for several people to use comfortably. Six people would be a stretch. 2. Easy to setup. 3. With all flaps open, seems to ventilate well. 4. While not tested in heavy wind, the tent does appear to have a good system of securing it together and keeping it in place when fully setup. Suggestions: 1. Buy a tent pad and better tent stakes (I prefer the "spike" style). 2. Stake the tent down first before inserting any poles. This helps keep it in place, especially in wind. I've set this tent up by myself, in about 15 minutes. The most difficult part is tossing the rain fly over the tent. My solution was to place some stones on the back end and roll it up so that you can stand at the front of tent, holding the front edge of fly and toss it straight over towards the back. The extra weight of stones provides enough heft to carry it over. Conclusion: Even with the leak, I still like the tent. BUT, the severity of the leak and the failure for it to seal is a deal breaker for me. I'd be curious to learn if anyone else has had this problem. If my leak is a one-off problem that does not normally exhibit, this is a good tent. UPDATE: based on the company response to my review, I contacted Alps and they replaced the tent. I said in the original review this was a four/four-and-a-half star tent. It gets the fifth star because of Alps great customer service. It's very nice to see a company stand behind their product and make things right. ... show more
