Im a smaller man at 5’7” 150lbs. Sometimes a chore finding gear that fits properly. These alpine star knee guards fit perfectly and are comfortable. Sturdy construction and look effective. Better than my previous hard shell style these honeycomb design are both flexible but can take a hit. Great job

First I am 6'1 350lbs and these fit great. So big guys have no fear. They are a little tight on the lower strap(calf) but some added Velcro from Walmart would solve that, no bother for me though. Don't worry about the thigh, I have big ones and it fits with room to spare. Ok so the knee and upper shin padding is great. Tested by some golf club swings by my wife lol. And they protect your inner calf/thigh. But do I really need impact protection there? Maybe I will put the right on the left and use them for outer leg protection, it seems more likely to be needed. Breathable? Ah not really. Hot knees has never been a problem for me though. Comfortable? I know it's there but that just make me feel more protected. It is not the softest. Value? I'm new to motorcycles and having fun with it. Eventually I will drop it and then it will be invaluable. ... show more

These area great to round out the Alpinestars protection system, except for one thing. Guys like me who are built like a lumberjack and have bigger thigs/knees/calves - the cheap Velcro straps are designed for thinner guys legs. But us bigger dudes ride, @Alpinestars, we need/want comfy gear too. The Velcro straps are too short and they cut into your legs/knees/calves. I still wear them b/c they do provide great protection and fit great with my AS boots, but they are really uncomfortable after a few minutes b/c the edges cut into your skin. I find myself distracted from the itching and messing with them trying to get comfortable. I'm going to pay to mod mine to fit me personally and make my ride's more comfortable. Alpinestars gear isn't cheap, but it's great gear and it's worth the price. But a couple more dollars in R&D would make all the difference. Personally, I'm willing to pay a little more and I know I'm not alone. If anyone at Alpinestars R&D sees this, get at me b/c I have a plan to improve this from a good product to an incredible one. ... show more

Breathes well. As comfortable as expected for entry level gear. Preformed well. Well worth the money. Stumbled on these while price checking helmets. I wrecked on a patch of loose gravel taking the corner too fast. I took the brunt of the hit with my forearm and knee. I definitely hit my knee into the ground hard. These preformed fabulously! Just slight bruising above the pad. It gave enough cushion that there was one small contact point on the ground instead of my entire leg. Well worth the money! ... show more

Seems like these might do well in a crash if I were about 20 years younger and 1/2 my current weight. As things stand, I’ll be buying some larger pads before my next ride thru trees

I’m in love with this brand and I have the elbow, knee and chest piece and love the quality and styling. I get a lot of people asking me where to buy. However I have pretty thick legs and these are tight. And this would be so easy to fix. Just put MORE Velcro on the strap!! There is only a very little strip sown in which doesnt give you much room to tailor to your size leg. Why?! It’s not like Velcro is expensive. If they just would expand the area you can Velcro to they would be perfect. Just my opinion of course. Besides that these are quality all the way. Lightweight, breathable as in they don’t make my legs sweat. I really love them. ... show more
