The basic construction of the tool is good. This requires the user to perform manual calculations for backspacing and adjust for wheel size. The product also arrived in Chinese giftwrap as packaging with no instructions. Potential buyers are advised to understand wheel offset and backspacing before purchasing wheels for use with this tool. Don't go cheap like I did.

While I have never used one personally. I have watched a tool like this used a lot. It is great for zeroing in the offset, however you can also use it to figure out how tall or how wide of a tire you can run. Or both for that matter. By taking your known wheel offset and adjusting the tool for it. You can start playing with different heights and widths, turning the wheel in and what to see if it is going to rub or not. Saving you the time, trouble, and money of mounting tires on wheels. So, this tool serves more than one function. Worthy of its price and having in the toolbox if you're playing around with cars.

This is great for getting proper offset for your wheel setup. I just attach the tool base to the wheel hub, and then set values including the wheel height, width and offset, make sure where and how to make the wheel fit with the fender according to the tool red line that shows. Read the front-facing scale, which makes checking readings much easier. I like this updated version because it measures inner and outer wheel lips, 304 stainless steel screws that can be hand tightened, which is so nice. This is good for the price.
