Good quality bundle that provides excellent value. It has all the basic tools that a beekeeper needs to get started and doesn’t include a bunch of random low-quality tools that you won’t end up ever using. I’ve also never seen such brightly colored hive tools, which is nice since I inevitably misplace my tools during hive inspections. The magnet was something that caught my eye and it turned out to be a nifty way to keep my hive tool with me. I put the magnet in the pocket of my bee suit and used it to keep my hive tool securely attached. The gloves fit nicely and seemed durable. I’m also a fan of the one-handed queen catcher since most kits I’ve seen only include cheap plunger-style queen catchers that are a nightmare to use. I am very happy with my purchase of the Alpha Hive beekeeping tool set. The tools are high quality and sturdy and I especially like the magnet, which keeps the tools more easily at hand; I have not seen this included in other sets. The queen catcher is made of strong, thick plastic; the design is more efficient and easier to use than others, and it keeps the queen safer. Wonderful kit, having a pocket magnet for your hive tool is a nice benefit. The smoker bellows is of nice quality. I don’t wear gloves, but the leather of these seem to be soft and of good quality. Would recommend this kit.

The media could not be loaded. It's great for first time beekeeping. I love the color. The gloves are comfortable and everything works as intended. All together a good set of tools.

There are beekeeping tool sets available on Amazon with more tools and less cost. This set is of good quality with some unique features, so in my opinion a great value. This kit includes: A strong magnet to hold a hive tool. In my opinion, this is an ingenious item. I have put the magnet in the provided glove’s pocket to hold on forearm, but prefer to have it in cargo pocket of pants for a quick grab. Either way, hung in a magnet attached on forearm or leg, this makes for the hive tool easy to grab and conveniently on me instead of misplaced down around the hive. The magnet does fail on thick 7 penny cotton or Duluth 40 grit work pants, but does fine with thin bee suit cotton. Standard smoker. Smoke ‘‘em if you got ‘em. Stainless steel, that generates cool smoke as expected. The loop on the cone top compared to some models of a hook on the spout makes for an easier and quicker open of the smoker. The lid is solid and stays on. Great airflow for amazing smoke. This alpha smoker has become my favorite of the three brands I own. Bee brush has a double row of soft and flexible horsehair bristles that shoo along bees safely. Standard hive tool. Durable. Teal paint makes for an easy find if set down somewhere. Not sure about you, but I cannot have enough hive tools. Always have several on hand when working with hives. J hook tool. Scraper fairly standard, but having a J hook is handy to pry & lift heavy frames. Again, teal paint makes for an easy find when set down in the bee yard. This is my first J hook hive tool, and now is my favorite hive tool. So much that. I bought a second one. Now I have two standard, two J hooks hive tools for a total of 4 I take with me to the apiary, and I STILL manage to not have enough hive tools when working hives…. Queen catcher. Safe and easy one hand snag of the queen. Gloves. Durable and yet flexible sheepskin leather hands. I mostly prefer no gloves, but for hives heavy on the propolis or the girls seem unusually grumpy I don gloves to avoid sticky or stung fingers. I had a couple of the tools already, but having backup for misplaced items, or some extras for helpers in the bee yard is useful, and the reasonable price of the items together is a convenient way to acquire some extra backup or spare equipment.
