I have sensitive eyes. After trying a couple of other "safe" mascaras recently, I am back to Almay. I have blonde lashes and use the black mascara. It looks great and doesn't smudge off during the day. It must have some type of conditioner in it, because my lashes are less brittle now and breaking off less. The mascara tube is quite large (although I'm not sure how much mascara is actually inside). But the thing I like it is is clicks open and closed. I think this will keep your mascara fresher, because the tube is closed completely. (Genius!) ... show more

I agree with some of the other reviewers that this must be a fake, knock-off product. I've used the Almay Get Up and Grow mascara product for years. The last time I reordered, I got this product, which does not resemble what I normally use. It is thin, watery and smears as you attempt to apply it to your lashes It also burns my eyes. Amazon.com needs to look into this product and determine if it is genuine and remove it if it isn't. If it is genuine, then I'm very disappointed in Almay and how their product quality has seriously declined. I will not be buying this again. ... show more

Love the way this mascara goes on. The brush is perfect for lifting and separating the lashes. But, it does seem to dry out and flake more than it should after only a few hours. I've added a drop of lavender essential oil to the container to see if it will last longer. Update: 4 months later, and I'm finding that adding the lavender oil to the mascara has really done the trick! And, an added bonus, it seems to be helping my lashes grow - so now happier with the mascara, and with my lashes. I keep trying other mascara brands, and keep coming back to this one. I still wish it would last longer and not flake off on it's own, but it's my favorite mascara I've found in a while (after adding the oil). ... show more

I absolutely love this mascara! I do have fairly naturally good lashes but I swear by this stuff. I used to buy every new mascara on the market and layer several brands to get the look I wanted (one for length another for volume). This mascara is great for day or night because it builds well and can go from natural to a more dramatic look (I sometimes still add a coat of a more dramatic mascara if I am going out). My lashes are much healthier (I did not realize other formulas were drying and that dry eyelashes was a thing), seem longer, and do not fall out as much. I replace mine about every three months (which is how often you are supposed to avoid bacteria) bc it dries out. Its the first time I have ever done so because its my go to and I use it so often. Would highly recommend at the very least for your everyday mascara! ... show more

    • Don't waste your money
Ordered waterproof, received regular. Sent back incorrect for exchange, received regular yet again. The label is all bubbly, which leads me to believe this has been repackaged or is a second. Being sensitive about my eyes, I will not bother using this. To seller: the waterproof mascara comes in an all green container, not green and white. The package states "waterproof", as does the actual container. NO where on this packaging is 'waterproof' mentioned, even though the picture on your site does show and all green, properly marked waterproof product.     • DEFINITELY A KNOCKOFF!
This is DEFINITELY a knockoff. The tube came with this fishy label slapped on it instead of the real thing. The real product has the labeling etched in, no sticky label at all. Do NOT buy this product; buy the other one with the updated packaging. It's a little more expensive but for sure you'll get the real deal. I didn't want to believe the other reviews since the price was so good, but they were so right... ... show more

This is a FAKE product, DO NOT buy! There was a very messy bubbled up sticker on the container. Almay products do NOT have a sticker, the image is right on the container. Would have put 0 stars but was not able to submit without clicking on at least one.

Almay is one of my favorite brands for mascara - easy on, easy off and looks fantastic. I would have given five stars, but the product package was defective, loose and crinkly looking. The label was not properly adhered to the container and probably sent by mail order for this reason! I was tempted to return it before opening. But after I opened it, the product was satisfactory... but still, I would have never bought this off the shelf due to the poorly looking label.
