I own several pair of Allen Edmonds, but this is my second pair of boots. The Dainite sole is very comfortable and supportive, and gives decent traction on most surfaces (only slippery for me on wet leaves so far). The Chromexcel leather is a little difficult to break in, but is very tough and has a great depth and feel to it. I returned the first pair because they arrived in terrible condition. The second pair I received is in even worse condition. Almost $450 for boots like these are an insult. How does Allen Edmond stay in business with QC like this? Now I either have to go through the trouble of returning again or be stuck with what should be factory seconds. Actually, factory thirds. I couldn’t tell you about fit because I didn’t bother trying them on. Ordering these are a gamble. You might get lucky and get a good pair the first time or you’ll have to keep ordering and sending them back until you get an acceptable pair. ... show more

    • Great Quality and Aesthetic but They Smell

Judging by the compliments, these boots look great. After wearing them in for a day or two, they were much more comfortable. The only issue is the smog smell. Which smells like smoke and chemicals, or any large industrial city. After nearly a month of ownership and mild use they still smell strongly of smog. This smell can be smelt when wearing them. Even after use, if I leave them by my nightstand, I'll get an occasional waft of smog as I'm laying in bed. I'm hoping the smell goes away with more time ... show more

These boots are very well made and would be comfortable, I think, to most people. They ran a little large for me and I had to return them. The materials are top-notch and they look great with all kinds of pants. In general, these are up to Allen Edmonds general quality.

The craftsmanship on these boots is outstanding. They're gorgeous. My only gripe is that I don't wear boots that cover my ankle much and these aggravated my tendon a bit.
