I've tried quite a few decaf espresso beans and these are by far the best. Excellent flavor and consistency bag to bag. Definitely has a mocha, chocolate flavor. These will regularly sell for less than $10 a bag which is a bargain for what you get. The organic and non GMO are just a bonus. Give these a try you won't regret it. As far as expiration, the bags I've received have always been about 30 days from expiration so I believe the expiration is 45-60 days from roasting. My years of being a coffee connoisseur in Seattle, the land of exquisite coffee has raised the bar high. Good coffee making is a big investment in my life. After beginning to believe coffee was no longer that great and maybe I was burned out, I ordered a bag of Allegro to try something different. Wow. I was stunned that decaf could taste this good. When I opened the bag even the smell was extremely fragrant with no bitter smell. And the lack of bitter aftertaste with the smoothest, but full of flavor coffee I've had in years will make this brand my new go to. It is worth paying extra to have coffee taste this good. Nice coffee, not so acidic as the regular coffee. Taste is good, but I am spoiled wirh drinking Temple coffee in a local cafe and it is difficult to be objective about this one, as for me none is good as Temple.. Still, I made a cup for my husband and I and we both enjoyed it. Will experiment wirh it adding in different recipes. One of them was my own mushroom coffee, which I make myself. Add chaga, lions main mushroom powders and a bit of hickory powder to this coffee and drink it when you are pleased. It taste the same but you’ll get a lot of health benefits! Enjoy ... show more

Because I was using natural medicines that were coffee sensitive, I couldn't drink coffee for over 30 years. Now I can drink decaf and found Allegro French Roast Decaf to be a great cup no matter how I prepare it or flavor it. I've used the pour-over method as well as using a drip coffee maker. My favorite way to drink it is as a mocha, with unsweetened Vanilla almond milk, organic cocoa, maple syrup or rice syrup for sweetener (I don't eat refined sugar) and a dash of cinnamon. I've tried several other brands of high quality decaf coffees but keep going back to Allegro for the taste I find most satisfying. It was recently discontinued at our local Whole Foods so I'm very glad to find it available here. I don't want to stop a newly formed habit. ... show more

    • Almost expired, burnt/flat tasting. Cheap is it's only asset.

I ended up returning this. It was about to expire and has no life to its flavor. Cheap though, and decaf espresso is hard to find.

Delicious deep, smooth flavor, my favorite decaf of all brands I've tried so far. Grinding it fresh for each cup is the best way to get the fullest flavor. So nice!
