This new ring video doorbell battery pro is a huge upgrade. I replaced my old ring battery 3 plus and am very happy with this new one. The first thing is the improved camera lens. It’s upgraded from 1080p resolution to 1536p resolution. It also has what ring calls a Low-Light Sight with Color Night Vision which helps reduce the glare and improve the video with little or too much light causing glare from harsh light to hardly any light. It achieves this by HDR automatically balancing over-exposed images, while improved light capture gives you more detail in darker conditions. You also get the Head-to-Toe HD+ Video, Birds Eye view and the 3D Motion Detection with Bird’s Eye Zones. These are great to see an aerial view to see exactly where anyone walked on your property. You also get 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi options to choose from rather than being stuck with only a 2.4 GHz option. All these new features my old ring doorbell lacked and I can see a huge improvement in the video quality even better than their amazing ring floodlight pro cameras. You get preroll, Two-Way Talk with Audio+, and package detection to see when a package was delivered. This is a huge upgrade if you get a lot of packages. I am really impressed with the many upgraded features of this new ring doorbell. If you’re replacing an older ring doorbell this is a must. My only complaints are the fish eye look which takes some getting used to. You can enlarge it and it looks normal, but it does take some getting used to. My other small caveat is the doorbell design itself is looking a little dated. I hope ring comes up with a new and fresh design in a few years. I got this for my front door to replace an older model of ring doorbell. I’m really impressed with the video quality much much better than my old one and faster response too. At night I have outside garage light and pathway lights, the picture from my ring doorbell is so nice and clear and in color . Looks a lot like my old doorbell installation was the same, you can choose to wire it or run it off the battery. Much better upgrade. ... show more

I like the product and all its features.The problem with the product is its durability the lens should be made of glass instead of plastic.I had the first ring doorbell made and the sun destroyed the plastic len And the solar panel was a waste only works sometimes

These are very faulty. Ordered one got it all set up, and it was very laggy, didn’t pick up motion, and the recorded motion it did pick up resulted in a grey screen. Received a replacement and it did the exact same thing! I have never had this issue with any of my other ring devices. I have returned both and went back to my Ring Battery Doorbell Plus.. that actually WORKS. ... show more

    • ADVISORY: NO LONGER SECURED THRU THE PEEPHOLE

Ring products are great and are feature-loaded. However, just a heads-up that RING has changed the battery operated devices in that they are no longer secured using the doors existing peephole. You now secure the entire camera to the door with screws (new holes drilled) and use a security faceplate and screw to cover the battery. That means that the entire camera and battery are 100% on the outside of the door. That equates to your battery draining a bit faster in cold-weather as it's exposed to the outside elements. It also means that if you installed it from the outside, any thief can also uninstall it from the outside with simple tools. It also means your Wi-Fi must connect to your camera from the outside. It once was impossible to steal your Ring doorbell cam. Now, it's too easy. Thus, in the end, while the camera itself is much improved, overall; it's a risky purchase for theft. ... show more

Tried connecting to 2.4 & 5 GHz. Wouldn’t connect. Contacted customer support for an hour and they had me try to connect to the hotspot. Still didn’t work. Then told me to return it, get a new and try again! Terrible experience with Ring. This review above was my first attempt at using the doorbell. I was able to get a new doorbell of the same model and it worked right away. Fast response time. Fully set up and working within minutes of install! Great Ring product. ... show more

I previously had an older model and I have to say the difference between this one and that is (pardon the pun) night and day! The night vision is terrific and in color. I love the two way audio as well, this way I don't even have to open the door to strangers.
