I’ve been wanting to try home distilling, and this VEVOR 5-gallon still was a great place to start. It’s well-made, easy to set up, and works exactly like it should. The stainless steel feels heavy-duty, and the condenser stays cool with a simple water setup. I’ve used it for a small batch of essential oils and plan to try some distilling next. No leaks, no weird smells, and everything cleaned up easily afterward. Only thing I’d say is the instructions could be clearer, but it’s not too hard to figure out. If you’re new to this or just want a reliable setup, this is a solid pick.

Got a 3 gal. All parts mentioned in the picture were there. Excellent beginner still. Also compact enough to fit on a stove, in a small kitchen. Very easy to assemble even for non-handy inexperienced. I am impressed by the instructions manual, which is not fancy, but very detailed, and includes lots of tips and recipes. One of my shut-off valves was missing a nut, but I didn't mind since I only used the bottom valve to drain the water. The upper valve (missing nut) is for a pump to pump cold water in, which is not totally necessary if supervised, and it does not come with the 3 gal package. I added ice cubes and ice water throughout the process. Super happy with my purchase!

I feel like this kit is missing pieces that could make it more efficient and the information is a little short on details but I'm sure a smarter mind could better figure it out and maybe have a better working space than the one I have. I have no doubt it works great but I didn't have the right station to work with it.

ordered the 9.8 gallon and received the 8 gallon. Missing air pump. Other than that I am very happy with the still. I have made a lot of runs and it consistently gives me 140 proof no problem. Keep your worm cold!!! 190-200 you'll be runnin!

I bought the 3gal version Cons -The lid seal that came with the pot is not a flat type seal, it sits vertically. This makes it nearly impossible to get the seal to sit in the groove and stay there. This makes sealing the pot tedious and rather annoying - The thermometer that came with it is different than the one that is shown in the pictures. It sits too high on the lid, which prevents the condenser pit from neatly sitting on the lid. This is mostly fine as I suppose you don't want the cold condenser sitting directly on the hot pot, but it looks bad having the condenser hanging off the edge with one foot on the lid. I ended up using a digital thermometer instead for better accuracy. - The weld at the bottom of the pot is already starting to tarnish after one use. I'm using the pot to distill lower alcohol content alcohol to a higher level, which isn't corrosive. I am unsure I would recommend putting anything acidic in this pot, YMMV. -With those cons it makes the product feel poorly designed/thought out Pros -Everything needed is in one kit other than a pump if you want to flow cold water over the condensor. -For the price, it's a low barrier of entry to try some stuff out or for hobby level activities. -It seems to do the job

The Vevor Moonshine Still 9.6 Gal is an outstanding value for an item that is practical and useful for preparedness. Upon arrival, I noted that the item is constructed of high-grade steel and copper. Assembly was pretty straight forward as noted by the included instructions. Although I, personally, am not using the still for making moonshine, I could use the included instructions and recipes to do so. For those using the still to distill water, the item works flawlessly and the distilled water is easily collected for later use. I highly recommend this product to anyone seeking to learn the art of distilling. - David Storrs

For 85 bucks I really have no complaints. A few modifications and it’s really a fantastic little still. Obviously you don’t want your condenser sitting on the hot lid so a simple swivel and a stick took care of that. The only other negative is the thermometer that’s comes with. First off it reads to 400 degrees. Steam only gets to 212 at sea level. 400 is much too large a range to take accurate readings. Also the thermometer threads rusted after one use. So I chucked it and replaced with a 220 degrees stainless version

The still did not cost much considering what a quality one would cost, and it looks good. However, looks can be deceptive. Others may have a better experience than I did. I wanted to use it to distill water. The first small issue was getting the condenser pot to sit flat on the boiler surface. To their credit, the instructions mention that pulling or pushing the condenser copper coil may be needed. It was needed...a lot. Still, this was not a big problem. Next, I filled up the condenser pot with water and connected the hoses to a bucket with a small, low-capacity water pump. Even before turning on the pump, I noticed that water was leaking out of the pot past the outside of the two control valves. The instructions stated that the flexible washers on the valves go on the outside of the pot. They were. Tightening them more did not help. I put them on the inside but had the same result. One of the valves stopped leaking after tightening it more, so I tried tightening the other that still leaked, but again, it would not stop leaking. Finally, I tightened it too much and the brass housing on the valve came apart. This was when I noticed that when the holes for the valves were drilled, the insides were not smoothed off but had sharp ridges. I don't know if this was part of the problem or not. Removing all the hardware from the condenser pot showed that all three holes had the same issue. The condensate fitting at the bottom had two flexible bands around the inside in addition to the main flexible washer on the outside. Were they there to prevent a leaking issue? I am not a happy camper. The best thing I can say for the still is that it was shiny. Smeagol (Gollum) would have liked it.
