Description

ALCOHOL LAMP - GLASS ALCOHOL BURNER SPIRIT LAMP - FACETED SIDES WITH ADJUSTABLE WICK + 1 EXTRA WICK A versatile Glass Alcohol Lamp- Burner, also known as a spirit lamp. The Glass container holds 4 ounces of alcohol with a flat base for standing upright flame. Lamp also has facets for inclining if desired. The top cover and wick screw adjusting needle as well as the safety cap are made of brass, nickel-plated. Safety Cap serves two purposes first to snuff out the flame and secondly to prevent evaporation of alcohol fuel. Lamp has an overall height of 4-3/4", the Wick is 3/16" in diameter x 7" length. An Extra Wick is included with the lamp FREE. Lamp is for applications where a low temperature flame is desired such as Flame Polisher, Wax Work for heating carving tools for Craft Work, Science, Dental and General Lab use. The alcohol spirit lamp is very practical and efficient as a producer of heat and light in its limited fashion. It can be used to produce light in case of a power outage, for example, but may be a good substitute for was candles, performing similar functions while providing a cheaper source of power in using denatured alcohol liquid fuel. ... show more

It works fine, but there is not a great seal on it, so the alcohol gradually evaporates. I usually only keep it 1/3 full in case I don’t use it for awhile. That way, I can prevent a little waste. Also, I've bought a few different replacement wicks and the knob won't catch any of them, so I can't feed the wick thru. ... show more

    • WARNING! DANGEROUS! FIRE HAZARD!!!
Leaks severely. I can’t believe it is actually designed to be used at an angle because if you tilt it slightly then alcohol streams out under the threads. Lawsuit in the making. Lit my kitchen table on fire. It’s tempting to keep it for the price but I’m afraid an accident will occur and people could die in a fire. Not worth the risk. It would at least be better if more stable but it’s designed to tip over. ... show more
