Assembly was not that bad. Everything else was a disaster. I have had the bed step up for a month and a half now and have used it maybe 10-15 times as it reserved for family guest. It already broke. It was pretty much 300 dollars down the drain. While it was in king mode use the mattresses slide and move out of place. When in twin mode use the mattresses stacked cover the entirety of the bed frame. It was never used as a single bed but it was stored away as such. Switching between twin and king is not easy and required two people as the wooden slats hit each other. Drawers just rest on the floor not in the bed. Overall cheap quality frame is weak and obviously broke within no time ... show more

Not the strongest and pieces aren’t all labeled but with common sense it comes together fairly easy. Took me about 2 1/2 ours just because there’s so many screws and I laid all the pieces out organized 1st. It does what it is supposed to do, and if you do the 6 inch memory foam mattresses it works perfect to stack them on top of each other when it is a daybed and very comfortable when it is a king bed. The base that the drawers are in pull straight out and they even thought of stoppers so that you can’t over pull it to create the king bed. It is low to the ground but super cute and great storage! 1. The instructions were hard to understand. 2. It appears someone let a router get out of alignment which caused one of the slots in one of the boards that guides a drawer frame to not be straight. In the photo you can see the slot that should have been centered in the dowel pin holes but got too close to one hole causing the slot to be out of alignment & split the wood as seen in the 3 attached photos. 3. I did not make photos but there were 2 places where the lamination was pulled off. This bed was a gift and the person receiving it decided to keep it rather than having to wait on a replacement. Bought this bed for my 3YO and to use as a guest bed occasionally, and we love it. Super sturdy and stylish, and the storage drawers are roomy. Assembly was pretty easy but took about 2 hours - Some of the wooden pieces were not labeled so we had to play the process of elimination game with pictures from the manual. I should have read the reviews first on what mattresses I should get to have them stacked on each other because we’re not sure where to store a second mattress for the king conversion; we went with a very thick pillow top mattress and there’s no way we can stack another on it. Very happy with this purchase!! I didn’t have help putting it together. The instructions were pretty clear and the pictures were also helpful. Since I did it alone it took longer than 2 1/2 hrs. But I am proud of myself that I did it. It works perfectly in my small guest room that will double for my workout space. It’s been less than a month and only an adult slept in it once in the twin configuration. No complaints. I do, as other reviews noted, stack the second mattress on top since it can’t be stored underneath. The bed was great, but there is a manufacturering flaw! They use knotted pine wood on the support beams. The whole back of the bed cracked in two after 6 months. We never had more than 200lbs on it. It cracked underneath my 6 year old niece who was simply shifting from one side to the other. Upon closer examination, the support beam has a natural knot in the wood right next to where the cross support inserts. How that got through inspection is beyond me. ... show more

I read the reviews and thought "yeah, but I'm an aerospace enginee, surely a rocket scientist can put it together faster". So I started a stop watch on the phone, cracked open the box, and low and behold, 2 hours and 41 minutes. Seriously. The concern isn't the instructions, they are very clear. It's actually the pieces themselves. The vertical slats don't fit in the pre bored holes. It too nearly 30 minutes alone to bore out the 12 holes to fit the six slats. Other than that, it's a LOT of screws. Bed is nice, decent quality for my 4 year old. It's Brazilian pine, not particle board, but I still have concerns about putting too much weight on it. The drawers are very big. Nice product for the price. If I didn't have to bore the holes out, I would have gone 5 stars. Cheers! ... show more
