  • Surprised!
Color: Sunburst
Very surprised by this AKLOT guitar! The price was great. Shipping was fast. Fit and finish is very nice. The roasted neck is amazing. Locking tuners are pretty good and nice to have, and holds tune. The Alnico V Pickups sound better than I thought they would. The playability is wonderful and fast for me, which I'm just amazed the sound and playability of this guitar. For me, I'm not ashamed of this guitar, an super glad I got this one. I'm getting another one asap. Thank you AKLOT for this great guitar! ... show more

  • Great guitar, great value for money.
Color: Black
Just got the Veltrik DX1. Looks great! Finish is excellent. Tuned it. Tuners are very nice and smooth. Holds tune well. Trem works very well. Intonation is very good, no adjustment needed, nut cut good, checked with feelers gauges, string height 1st-1.5mm, 6th-2mm, that’s where I like the height. I really like the sound of the pickups. Not considering any upgrade, these are very good. Fret work is very good, just needs a polish, no problem to do. This guitar came out of the box a “tune and play”. I have an Epiphone Traditional IV, costing more than twice as much that out of the box needed a lot of setup work and adjustment. The Veltrix basically needed none. Great job, great guitar! • Feature Rich Budget Guitar
Color: Sunburst
This guitar arrived very well packaged. The gig bag is good quality with a moderate amount of padding and a velcro neck rest. The extras, as pictured, are all usable, although I would replace the tuner. You'll want one that is rechargable by USB. The guitar itself is a very good one It's a strange mixture of Fender and Gibson type guitars. The fit and finish are excellent, including the binding on the body. It weighs 7.4 pounds, right in the ballpark for the usual Strat style. The headstock is tilted back, Gibson style, which means you don't need string trees. The break angle over the nut is good, and uniform among all the strings. The nut is a Gibson style, rounded nut which does not sit in a channel, but rests between the end of the fretboard and the truss rod cover. It is bone. And it is 41.64 mm wide. The locking tuners work very well, and are a good choice, especially on a strat style guitar. The frets are wonderful. No sprout. No high frets. The action on delivery was extremely high, 2.75 on the low E and 2.5 High E. I added to the shim that was already in place and was able to bring that down to 1.5 Low E and 1.25 High E and there was no buzzing and no dead frets. I could have lowered the saddles, but the grub screws were already sticking out of the tops, and if you palm mute, you would need to replace them with shorter screws. The frets were also polished well enough and the fretboard was not dry. The neck carve is a very comfortable slim C. The tremolo arrived floating. I prefer to have it resting on the body, so I tightened the claw just enough to bring it down in contact with he body. This way, the tuning stability was very good, after a couple times stretching the strings. The push in tremolo bar works well, and can be tightened with an allen wrench. And I do like the modern, two point tremolo bridge. The electronics are as pictured. Full size unbranded pots. And there is a circuit board switch, which is okay, but a real physical switch would have been great here. The pickups are alnico, as you can see by the lack of backing magnets in the photo. Excellent. And they sound good, both on clean and with overdrive. The coil split functions well on the humbucker in the bridge. I played this guitar for hours yesterday and today and it's simply a good quality, fun budget guitar. My only real quibble is the placement of the output jack. I like the football jack that is often used on strats. It gets the cable out of the way when playing on your lap, which is how most bedroom guitarists play these days. So, I may move the output jack. Also, since Aklot went with more of a Gibson style nut and tilted headstock design, I would have liked to see a Gibson scale length. This is 25.5 inches, but a Reverend style 24.75 inch scale length would have suited me even better. That's not a complaint Just an observation. So, overall, this is a wonderful, feature rich budget strat style guitar. I also have Aklot's less expensive strat and it's very good, but this is a definite step up. And for around 209 dollars with the current discount, this is an excellent value for money. ... show more

  • Really worth it. Not perfect, no guitar is out of the box.... But really felt good in my hands...
Color: Purple
I've been playing for a few years, and when I was given the opportunity to look this guitar over, I was really interested. The entry level, budget guitar choices are very plentiful, but when looking over this offer, it had a few more features than I'm used to for a guitar just over $200. Firstly, it looks a lot like my Jackson, so much so I took a photo of them together. Also, the wood on the neck of the guitar is very slick. Faster sliding up and down the fret board than my PRS, and dare I say....? Maybe even quicker than the Jackson, which is designed for speed. The tuning knobs are very good quality, and locking as well. 5 pickups is a lot, and the on off toggle and 5 way switch gives you a very broad range of tones. Fret buzz was an issue, particularly on the low E string, but I've taken her into the local guitar shop for a set up (something you should do with any new guitar and not a knock on this one), and I'll update you if the buzz remains. I've a feeling it will disappear with some tweaking. There's a bag, some extra strings, a guitar strap, some picks, all of which are nice, but you'll end up getting your own as you learn the instrument and start to have preferences. The tremolo bar is something you don't see on beginner guitars often. I'm not sure it's needed starting out, there's a lot to learn and a whammy bar shouldn't be high on your list, but that leads to another thing that's nice about this guitar..... I could see you using it for a long time, even as you get more experience. For me it all comes back to that neck, which was so smooth, and really grabbed me. You can change pick-ups, strings, and personalize a guitar in so many ways.... but that feeling in your hand... the weight and how your hand moves across the fret board, that is hard to change, and is kind of built in. I really liked the feeling of this guitar, and if there are some things I want to replace later, I will. The bones on this are just too good. ... show more
