How do DC resistance (kΩ) ranges relate to pickup output and tone? SC 5.0–7.5 kΩ: bright, clear, dynamic, low output. HB 7.0–9.5 kΩ: balanced, clean–medium. HB 9.5–13.0 kΩ: thicker/hotter, can get muddy. HB 13.0–18.0+ kΩ: more low end + compression, less snap. What string gauge do you use for your guitars, and can I adjust it for different play styles? We use 10-46 gauge strings for balanced performance. For ultimate playability, try bE tuning (a popular tuning for rock). For optimal tuning accuracy, switch to 09-42 with standard E tuning. For a deep tone, use 11-52 strings and drop D tuning. How does string height affect my guitar’s sound and playability? String height, or action, influences tuning, tone, and feel. I bought the Inferno Burst Veltrix DX-1 after seeing reviews for the Stryde model on Scar My Gutar, The Bald Shedder and Dave6SS and others. There was a sale going on and I had been looking to get a good S type guitar. Upon checking it out, I found the Veltrix model, also on a sale and it was more in line with what I as looking for. Locking Tuners Bone Nut Real Flamed Maple (veneer) 2 point Vibrato Round ended Medium Jumbo Stainless Steel frets Angled headstock (no string trees needed) AlNiCo 5 Pickups with a coil splitable humbucker Lightweight Okoume body Rosewood Fingerboard Roasted Maple neck with smooth, fast matte/satin finish feel. Comfortable modern C profile That is just the guitar itself. It is a cross between a Jackson Dinky and a Fender Stratocaster. It also came with a nice, padded gig bag with 2 pockets, JOYO branded nylon Jazz 3 picks, an extra set of 10-46 gauge strings, a polish cloth, the nicest heavy duty instrument cable I have ever seen come with a guitar in any price range (no cheap “shoe string” cable here), a guitar exercise book, manual, strap and 3 hex keys. This is for $260 retail, $190 on the sale ($203.52 with tax). This is insane value and quality for the price. The guitar punches way above it’s price range. That said, it is still a budget guitar. As with every guitar bought online and most bought in physical stores, a set up was required . The frets needed polished. The ends are smooth thanks to the rounded ends and level, but they feel a little scratchy out of the box. I have had guitars I bought in the $1000 neighborhood that still had under-polished frets, so needing to buff frets and condition the fingerboard (with mineral oil) is completely acceptable. I made a slight adjustment to the neck which had a small amount of relief, lowered the bridge and made slight adjustments to the saddles. My action is actually slightly lower than typical ‘low action’ as measured with a Fritz Ruler. Shielding and grounding is good. I did have to clean out the Trem cavity some. Again, not unexpected for a guitar in this range. The electronics are good. All tones from the 5 way switch are usable and the coil split ‘stacked coil’ mode sounds good. The single coils are bright. I have preferred to keep the tone knob backed off about 1/3rd of the way. Both the volume pot and tone pot are great with a great response and taper. Superior to my more expensive Vintage V-100 and even more expensive Epiphone Slash AFD model (the original release version). The locking tuners are fantastic. Same with the nut. The only real issue I have is with the vibrato. It does not stay in tune when floating. I have actually received 2 of these guitars. The first had a slight neck yank and appeared as if it might be slightly misaligned. This could be fixed on my own, but since Amazon and Aklot have such great customer service policies, I was able to just return it and have a 2nd one sent. I actually prefer the wood grain on the 2nd one. The flame looks more intense, although the rosewood on the first model was darker. With both guitars, the vibrato would not stay in tune and reset to zero if floating. It will if only used to dive, but if raised at all, it will not return to zero and go out of tune. I have adjusted mine to be dive only and have had no issues. I believe this is just due to it being a budget vibrato unit. The knife edge was not the best and had some spurs and inconsistencies between both sides. While i smoothed the spurs and lubed the pivot points, the unsymmetrical knife edged pivot points seem to prevent it from being perfectly balanced and returning to zero. That’s not a huge deal but perhaps with time, when the guitar ‘settles’ some, it will resolve, but I may upgrade to a Wilkinson vibrato at some point anyways to have more comfortable saddles and rollers ( I hate saddle grubs). The upside about the dive only setup is it is far easier to stay in tune. I actually have it so the front of the bridge plate is raised slightly where the back is flush. This ensures a good dive motion and range while eliminating the ability to be raised and ensures the guitar will stay in tune even if a string breaks. I put a set of DR Blues 9-42 on and it just is very effortless. I didn’t think I could get it to play more comfortable than my V-100. Bends are easy and smooth. The nickel strings help balance the brightness of the pickups some. I have NO complaints about the guitar and despite the minor issue with the first one, it was still playable, sounded good and was used live the day after I received it. The replacement sounds better, plays better and I believe is slightly lighter than the other, which is what I wanted. Aklot’s customer service was great too and prompt with troubleshooting options. They are very open to feedback to deliver guitars that people want at a more than fair price and continue to finetune their designs/builds. Also, before I close out, the pickups are low output. The humbucker is rated at 7. My V-100's bridge humbucker is over 15. I would keep this in mind if your wanting to play high gain metal. I have a Peavey 6505, so I have more than enough gain on tap and can adjust accordingly, but I chose the guitar in part because of the lower output pickups which I felt would work better for my church’s worship team. If wanting to to play metal and have a higher output sound, you may want to consider loading in a different set of pickups or have a boost pedal with a high gain amp to get that kind of tone. Of note however, is how well it sustains despite the lower output pickups and being a bolt on with a vibrato. I feel it out does my V-100 (setneck, tune-o-matic bridge system and with pickups twice as hot) I highly recommend this guitar and the company Aklot. On a scale of 10, and all factors considered, I give it 9/10. I will be checking out other instruments and perhaps may have an opportunity to receive one for review. With a good setup, this thing rips.

First, I like all the features. No other $200 guitar comes with a coil-split bridge humbucker, 2-point tremolo, bone nut, and locking tuners that I could find anywhere. The slick, slim-profile roasted maple neck is a nice touch. If you've never tried locking tuners, this a great start. String changes take seconds. No need to waste time endlessly turning the tuners to wrap the strings around the peg. Just lock a little thumb screw, tune, start playing. Solid. However, the good folks at Aklot put too many features and not enough love into the finish and quality control. Both ordered models were returned. One had impossible-to-correct intonation problems. The second was much better, but the frets and rosewood fingerboard were just too rough. I didn't want to double the price with a proper fret job, so that was also returned. The "wood grain" on the body is obviously painted on but doesn't look as bad as others I've seen. Great idea, but not a finished product. The versatile Alnico V pickups in H-S-S configuration are a nice balance of output and tone, especially with the coil-split humbucker and the single coil middle and neck pickups. A young shredder might like this as a starter guitar or a fun platform for modding. Cautiously recommended, with a few asterisks. Know going in that it will take some effort (and a return or 2) to make it a real shredder.

Fantastic HSS Guitar for Both Beginners and Pros! I recently received the Aklot Veltrix, and overall, I'm incredibly impressed. Whether you are just learning on your first instrument or ready to step up from your previous guitar, this is a phenomenal choice. *Playability & Setup The playability right out of the box was great. The neck came perfectly straight, and I only had to make a very slight adjustment to the action height to get it exactly where I want it. The neck itself is smooth and fast, and there are absolutely zero sharp fret ends. The frets were just a little scratchy initially, so I did have to give them a quick clean. While I was at it, I swapped the stock strings for my preferred 10-45 gauge (I bounce between Ernie Ball Classic Rock and DR Pure Blues), and it plays beautifully. Yes this guitar comes with locking tuners that works well keeping the guitar in tune. *Sound & Electronics* The HSS configuration is versatile, and the Alnico V pickups sound fantastic. One of my favorite features is the electronics setup—instead of a standard push-pull pot, it has a small two-way switch which I absolutely love. *Aesthetics & Minor Critiques* I only have two minor aesthetic complaints. First, I wish the body color was a bit more purple so it would perfectly match the Aklot Telecaster version I own (which is also a great guitar). Second, it would have been a really nice touch if the pickguard and pickups were a cream color to match the body binding. Nothing that affects the playability. The finish is flawless. *Accessories & Extras* Aklot goes above and beyond with the extras. The included gig bag is nice and comes loaded with all the usual goodies you need. Even better, they include two very helpful books: a guitar manual that teaches you how to set up and take care of your instrument, and a beginner's book to help new players learn to play. That is an awesome bonus. Highly recommended!

Just got the Veltrik DX1. Looks great! Finish is excellent. Tuned it. Tuners are very nice and smooth. Holds tune well. Trem works very well. Intonation is very good, no adjustment needed, nut cut good, checked with feelers gauges, string height 1st-1.5mm, 6th-2mm, that’s where I like the height. I really like the sound of the pickups. Not considering any upgrade, these are very good. Fret work is very good, just needs a polish, no problem to do. This guitar came out of the box a “tune and play”. I have an Epiphone Traditional IV, costing more than twice as much that out of the box needed a lot of setup work and adjustment. The Veltrix basically needed none. Great job, great guitar! It’s not as blue as shown in the photo. But the quality of the guitar alone makes up for it. Great value for money. It comes with a manual on how to set it up yourself (mostly just needed to adjust the truss rod and tuning). The finish, fretboard, bridge, and pickups are amazing.

I bought this guitar knowing it was going to be a project guitar. And in that respect it did not disappoint. The workmanship of the body the neck and the fret work was decent. Whoever put it together though needs to go back to school. They did not use the locking tuners, they just wrapped the strings. The two-point tremolo bridge was not set properly. The threaded inserts were not seated all the way down. One of the posts was actually cross-threaded. It took me some time to get that all straightened out and working well. The fret work wasn't bad, but I did need to polish the frets and dress a few of the sharp ends. Now it plays pretty well it's light and it feels good. If you like to work on your guitars this is a good project guitar. Oh, and the color is not nearly as vibrant as the pictures. Mine is the Violet Venum, and from some angles looks almost brown.

Very surprised by this AKLOT guitar! The price was great. Shipping was fast. Fit and finish is very nice. The roasted neck is amazing. Locking tuners are pretty good and nice to have, and holds tune. The Alnico V Pickups sound better than I thought they would. The playability is wonderful and fast for me, which I'm just amazed the sound and playability of this guitar. For me, I'm not ashamed of this guitar, an super glad I got this one. I'm getting another one asap. Thank you AKLOT for this great guitar!
