I had been using the Mapex throne for a while. I typically practice for several hours at a time, and my body seriously hurts when I’m done. It was even interfering with my desire to practice. The AKLOT is my 1st saddle-style seat. I was worried about how it would affect my practice, and how it would feel with my kick foot, mainly. I’m pleased to say that it hasn’t affected anything negatively. My back, butt, etc, are actually feeling much-much better (even after several hours of practice). The AKLOT Saddle Throne has given me more of a desire to practice. So far it’s been night and day vs. the Mapex Throne. Very comfortable. Very stable. Easy to set up. Easy to adjust (hydrologic adjustment). I opted for my Aklot Throne without the backrest. The material appears to be pure quality. I’ve only began using this a few weeks ago. I will come back and update this review if I run into any issues. Right now it’s seems like a winner purchase. Very happy. ***edit on 03/2026: The seat is absolutely excellent! Holding up really - really well. The seat is still nice and cushiony. The hardware still stable and solid. It’s a great seat and I highly recommend this for the drummer.

I love this throne! This throne is the same quality as Roc-N-Soc, but for less money. I like all the colors, but I got this blue one to match my transparent blue stained Pearl Session Custom Maple kit. The beautiful blue velvet/suede seat is soft and plush enough to play for hours with no butt pain or excessive sweat puddles, like happens with leather seats. The pieces are heavy-duty double braced steel, and they fit together easily for assembly. The gas piston seems solid and stays where it is set, and the throne is very sturdy with no seat wobble. The seat height can be adjusted from 16.7" to 22.5" with the gas lever, so it's good for younger/shorter or older/taller people. This throne is a jewel and a bargain. It completes my kit.

I bought this because I wanted an upgrade from my current seat, and I wanted something with a backrest. I tried a few other brands before landing on this one and its been the best chair. It goes high enough for me to seat comfortably since I am on the taller side. The seat is wide and 4 inches thick so its very comfortable to sit on and is very stable. I did run into an issue with the chair's hydraulic but support was super helpful and helped fix the issue within an hour of contacting them. The support team deserves 5 stars on its own. I would highly recommend this chair for any drummer out there.

I am a band director and our previous drummer’s throne would no longer lock in any upward position. We had a big performance in two days so after some research, I chose this throne. It was a plus that it was delivered overnight (with prime). My student was able to sit high enough and he said it was very comfortable. This drum throne offered choice of colors, and we picked the wine color, which was closest to our school colors. It was very sturdy and good quality. The back rest is removable. The hydraulic lift offers quick movement up and down without having to rotate the seat. I’m very happy with the purchase. Highly recommended.

I have owned the Tama 1st chair before. My initial impressions of this chair is that its very similar in build quality and material to the 1st chair. The build quality seems very good. Sturdy robust drum stool. The cushion quality is firm but comfortable. The color (purple in my case) is identical. In a blind test I think it would be hard to tell the difference to the Tama 1st Chair. And at half the price.

Amazing throne for the price. Compared to roc-n-soc, it’s not quite that high end. But it’s comfortable, and has hydraulics, which is a HUGE deal for drummers’ comfort. Slight adjustments in height while sitting, is a major thing. I’d buy this product again without hesitation; I had 2 major spine surgeries and I play every day.
