  • Amazing quality AND price! Amazing quality AND price!
I have the 7 string. Feels great. Intonation is great. Looks amazing. Get this guitar before the price goes up because you can’t beat the value and the quality. It was packaged well and safe. The guitar also comes with a distortion pedal which I haven’t tried because I don’t have a 9v ac barrel jack but for me that’s fine because separately I have purchased a cool little Hotones Pulze mini to play around on. Great combo imo. This also came with picks and a strap as well as a guitar string mute. Check for what it all comes with because I may not be listing everything but it should be in the images. The controls and switch’s feel solid. It plays well out the box. Really, the only thing this awesome guitar doesn’t come with is guitar stand and a guitar amp! ... show more

  • VERY impressive guitar for the price - a value king VERY impressive guitar for the price - a value king
Color: Aurora Driftt - 8
Overall, a VERY impressive guitar for the price. Played very well out of the box with minimal setup. The fit and finish are in line with my other built-in Korea/Indonesia; it's an A+. Finer details below, but if you are looking for an inexpensive 8-string (heavy metal chungus) guitar and might do some upgrades, learn luthier skills, etc., while having zero fears of a large investment or breaking a large investment - this is "the one". The Aklot customer Service is BEYOND amazing. I DID have ONE minor blemish on the headstock (chip in the paint). Aklot Customer Service responded in less than 12h and provided a solution that 100% resolved the issue in a timely manner, to an as-new state. I am VERY impressed. Keep in mind, with lower-priced guitars, the price cuts are coming from somewhere IE: lower quality hardware, fit and finish, material quality, and/or finishing work. That's not to say low-priced guitars don't play well... but, if you are willing to improve your setup/luthier skills, a high-quality budget guitar can play as well as $1200++ guitars. In the case of Aklot, the cost-cutting is in simple, sensible areas (mostly hardware) that are easy for most/any person to resolve if they want a more refined instrument. The Good: - All wood is quality material, dense, strong - great tone. The neck is a correctly roasted maple - It was packaged very well - paint and finish are A-grade, no manufacturing defects found. - setup was mostly right, needed some intonation tweaks and tuning - Frets are, in fact, stainless with zero sharp edges (ball end) - Bridge hardware is solid and well-built. - Neck is a nice, fast, thin profile. very easy to play. - The neck had zero warping and was very straight from the factory without tension on the truss rod The less-good (things we should all expect on >$300 guitars): - Tuners could be better. They DO fit 80/85 on the low with zero fuss. locking would be nice. - The pickups are fine for djent/Metal tones, but not the highest output nor cleanest. easy swap if you choose. - The nut is some sort of plastic - not a huge issue - it's what we expect for a sub $300 guitar. - There were a couple of high frets; tapping or mild leveling was needed. I have this problem with $1000 guitars too. - electronics cavity was NOT shielded - easily solved with some copper/alum tape or conductive paint. It wasn't very noisy, but something to note if you already have ground loop issues. - Electronics are nothing fancy, but they work. Not Guitar Related: - included distortion pedal: great for someone that doesnt have a distortion pedal. No included 9v power. - The strap included was an "instrument strap", not a guitar strap - I would buy a strap. - The gig bag is a huge value. It's not the most rigid foam, but better than some I have paid $50 for Overall, I would highly recommend this guitar - and due to the excellent experience with this guitar and their service, I purchased a beginner drum set from Aklot for our kids. ... show more

This thing is beautiful absolutely amazed at what you receive. This brand is fantastic from customer service to guitar finish and comfortability. Pros (The Good Stuff): VALUE IS INSANE: Got this for $230. It feels like an $800+ guitar, seriously. BUILD QUALITY: The finish, the roasted maple neck, and the frets are perfect. This is where all the money went. NECK: The multi-scale neck (fanned frets) feels great and the heel is super clean. FREE STUFF: Comes with a backpack gig bag, a strap, a distortion pedal, and a string dampener. CUSTOMER SERVICE: They actually answered my questions and confirmed warranty coverage. Cons (The Bad Stuff): PICKUPS: after talking with customer support I may have got a bad set or something they were great fixing it. Verdict: If you are looking for a fantastic, high-quality chassis to upgrade, this is it. It is an instant 9/10 for the money. Buy it now and save up for new pickups! ... show more

  • Buy This Guitar Immediately! Great 8-String Multi-Scale Guitar for Great Price Buy This Guitar Immediately! Great 8-String Multi-Scale Guitar for Great Price
Color: Aurora Driftt - 8
Buy This Guitar Immediately! Great 8-String Multi-Scale Guitar for Great Price: Will Buy More Aklots in the Future My husband's review: I included a picture of my modest pedal setup showing my bluish/purplish 8-String multi-scale Aklot guitar. Before anything else, this is a great quality guitar, especially considering the price. Because of the very reasonable price I was able to convince my wife I really needed this guitar! There is no such a thing as too many guitars. I like to go bad to good. None of the bad issues keep me from giving this guitar a 5-star rating. Let me list the bad-ish stuff first related to the product: • The guitar can be played out of the box after tuning; however you need to do some adjustments for optimal performance, which is reasonable considering the price. More below • String action: If you want to be able to do tapping you may need to lower the action on each of the strings • Pitch Optimization: The guitar is somewhat ready to play, but it is not completely "harmonized," that is, the half-string octave in the 12th fret will most likely not match the note in the 12th fret. You will need to take the time to adjust the length of each string by adjusting the bridge length (for the strings that need the adjustment), and if you modify the action after that, you will need to readjust the string's length again. If you don't do that, as you go up on the frets, the notes will sound out of pitch. The process is actually fairly easy and you can look for YouTube videos. Just make sure you have a good tuner. If you do not feel comfortable with this, you can take it to your local luthier/guitar technician at a music store • Guitar strap (picture included): The product includes a fairly sturdy guitar strap. It is a multi-instrument strap and it looks a bit awkward when you use it in the guitar… you have to do this weird loop to attach it to the guitar, and does not look neat, but I do appreciate the 3 pick slots Bad-ish stuff that is NOT product-related: • Getting used to the angular nature of the frets in a multi-scale guitar takes some time • It is easy to mess up your palm mutes on the bridges (each string essentially has its own bridge) But, why even mess with a multi-scale guitar? If you want to have precise and "buzz-free" playing in the lower strings, you need higher tension, which is best achieved with lengthier necks (bass guitars have longer necks). That does not work well for higher tone strings, often requiring thicker strings to put up with higher tensions leading to strings just breaking, which is no good. A multi-scale guitar is a compromise that allows the usual feel in the higher G(3rd)-B(2nd)-E(1st) strings, including lower action, and having a more precise and buzz-less-ish performance in the lower strings. Now, if you really want to go OCD on this, you can go to places like Stringjoy (Pre-selected sets available at Amazon) to get custom strings based on the tension you need So let's talk about the incredibly great features in this 8-string guitar I call "The Monster:" • Packing: The packing is superior! It is done to avoid damage to the guitar in transit • Packed Tuning: Strings are tuned to slightly higher notes from standard tuning to keep neck from warping if encountering extreme humidity and temperature changes during transit • Finish: Absolutely gorgeous. Body has incredibly shiny metallic highlights for the color you pick. Neck has the most absolutely smooth feel. Frets are incredibly smooth • Overall look and feel: Beautiful inlays in the neck; good headstock hardware for precision tuning, out-of-the-box solid state pickups (I have no plans to change them - although solid state may not be the terms I am looking for… solid surface?) • Gig bag: Really happy with the included gig bag! It has really good padding and a strap for the neck • Damper: I don't use a string damper for tapping (I typically use a bar with my first finger), but the one included is really nice, so heck, I just keep it available in case I have a need for it. Great look • Overdrive/Distortion Pedal: I've got to take some time to mention this little pedal. It is supposed to provide flexibility when dealing with baritone and lower tone guitars. It is much better than that. It is a great overall distortion/overdrive pedal for any guitar. Great control of the tones, output volume and gain Why am I taking the time to write all these words? Well, I am supper happy with this Aklot guitar, and I played a live show already with it after I did all the adjustments. My fellow band members all said "WOAH!" when I pulled it out of the gig bag. And the warm sound of the lower tones were very appreciated. Love it and I love tapping. This guitar offers me a much more affordable alternative to a "Chapman Stick" (All the respect to Tony Levin of King Crimson, Peter Gabriel and Liquid Tension Experiment fame…) I know that Aklot has 7 and 6 string multi-scale guitars, but they also have some awesome standard scale guitars… need to be sweet to my girl so she can let me buy a few more!!! ... show more

  • 2 bad frets but easy fix and very fun guitar 2 bad frets but easy fix and very fun guitar
I really like this guitar. I had 2 frets I needed to tap down but other than that it was very nice out of the box. This is my first 7 string but threw on some new strings after a little set up and over all I'm really enjoying it. Very fun for the price. Would be 5 stars if I did not have the 2 frett issues. ... show more

  • *Update* they made it right! *Update* they made it right!

Read below for previous review. After speaking to their customer service representative, I was given the option of keeping the guitar and receiving a full refund, or getting another guitar free of cost. I opted for the first option. My guitar (obvious QC issues aside) was too pretty and played too well to let go. I’m seriously impressed with their customer service, they kept in steady touch with me to make sure I received my refund. Very nice people to deal with! Guitar is beautiful but some pretty major issues have shown up. First things first, I travel a lot for work. This is relevant because this guitar was delivered while I was away from home. No biggie, I got my partner to bring it inside and put it in my music room. This room is climate and humidity controlled. I let the guitar sit in its box for about a week before unboxing. I must say I was impressed on first glance. Through my excitement, I look at the guitar up and down only to notice one of the pots seemed to have its knob gone. I was very confused, I’ve never seen something like this before. I looked in the bottom of the gig bag to find the knob and the shaft of the volume pot rolling around. Obviously I’m pretty shocked, so I put it back into the pot and to my surprise the pot still works, albeit the shaft doesn’t stay in. This also seems to have created quite a bad ground hum, I’m not sure why. After an inspection of the back cavity all the grounding points appear to be soldered properly. Not sure how to move forward with this aside from replacing the pot and redoing the wiring. Volume pot fiasco aside I then tried to play the guitar. The guitar desperately needed a setup. It was forward bowed so badly that the strings were touching the frets. After adjusting the truss rod I got it playable, but the intonation is wayyy off. I don’t want to try intonating it until I have a fresh set of strings at the gauge of my liking, but I don’t want to waste strings on a guitar I might send back. I was able to get the action fairly low without fretting out or major buzzing. The hardware is honestly the best and most impressive part of this guitar. Tuners are definitely the weak point, but they hold tuning just fine. The frets are scratchy, but nothing out of the norm for a budget set of stainless steel frets. I imagine 0000 steel wool would shine these things right up. The guitar is really light for being an 8 string, mine is weighing right around 8.5lbs (3.9kgs) Overall, the appearance is great, the playability is decent (can’t really tell until putting fresh strings on), pickups are decent enough to get by, will definitely want to EQ them or swap them out in the future. It’s very unfortunate about the pot and grounding issue though, I’ll be reaching out to customer service to see if they can send me a new one or just replace the whole guitar. ... show more

  • Nice specs but be prepared to do a lot of setup work
Color: Twilight Burst - 7
Nice specs and design for the price and i really like it but be prepared to spend more to set it up properly if you don't already have the tools. There were multiple raised frets that weren't seated properly, a lot of dead notes as a result and the neck wasn't properly screwed in to the body. The frets are also not polished and very rough and there is no shielding for the electronics in the body. It also took about a month to ship. I've been trying to fix the issues as i go along as a return would be too costly, but it can be a time consuming process as I don't have all the tools yet. ... show more

  • Fantastic up-font price but will test your setup skills. Fantastic up-font price but will test your setup skills.
Color: Aurora Drift - 7
I got this 2 weeks ago as a birthday gift to myself and absolutely love it(mostly). The good: The finish on the body & neck is gorgeous. Pickups are responsive and sound great to my ear, neck feels sooooo comfortable in the hand, and all the accessories are great bonuses. Comes with some decent strings (seemed like it was a 70-11 set?). Tuners are smooth and the individual bridge saddles are easy to dial in (and can fit a 74 no prob if you like them thicc). The okay: The wiring cavity had insulating tape applied to the cover but the cavity itself is bare. (Was sitting next to my desktop computer and could hear feedback coming through if the guitar was facing the tower) The pots are fine but are the tiny, unbranded variety. The bad: So far there are at least 11 frets that have random high points, 3-4 that are not fully seated, and the majority are super rough. No fret sprout but this is the most problematic neck I've ever had to deal with. Also the top strap post is put in at an off angle and I'll probably re-seat it before putting a strap on for safety. Even with the neck/fret issues I haven't been able to put it down. Totally recommend this axe to anyone looking to chug but you'll need the knowledge & tools to deal with the setup issues (or a kind tech friend or local luthier). UPDATE 4/14/26: AKLOT customer service reached out to me outside of Amazon to apologize for the inconvenience and requested photos of the problems (sharing here as well). They have offered to send me a replacement neck and I am currently waiting on the tracking information for that. I am changing my review to 5 stars for excellent customer service, for now. Rest assured, this will be updated when the new neck arrives or does not. ... show more
