  • Incredible value, as nice as any guitar I've played for under $600
Color: Inferno Burst
This guitar vastly exceeded expectations. The quality (fit, finish, playability ) are exceptional. I can't believe the price I paid. I was just in the market for a gig bag for another guitar and while the one included doesn't reach the level of the one I spent over $100 for, it's NOT a throwaway item and is probably a $40 value on its own. The guitar also comes with a decent clip on tuner, a cable to connect to the amp (not a piece of junk), a strap that I won't use (not my style, the quality is fine), a microfiber cloth, 2 adjustment tools, a set of picks, a replacement set of strings (not the ones I would put on there, but still nice to keep in the bag for emergencies) and a handy pouch to keep all of that in. The accessories alone are at least a $75 value I would say. The finish is beautiful and the neck feels great. I haven't adjusted the pickup height or replaced the strings with my preferred type yet, but I have played through all the pickup combinations and I'm totally impressed by the sound quality. At the end of the say, this is an insanely good value for a guitar. I own 6 other guitars ranging from one other at this price point all the way up to one costing over $1000 and this guitar is definitely as nice as any guitar I've see for under $500. There's definitely a premium you can get to, but there is simply no reason to pay $400 for a Squier or Epiphone that won't be significantly better, won't have locking tuners or any of these accessories. ... show more

  • Not just a great deal, a great guitar.
Color: Storm Blue
I can't believe I'm giving 5 stars to a budget guitar, but this deserves it. For under $200, you get a quality instrument with locking tuners and humbuckers with coil split, allowing a wide range of tones. Good luck finding another well-made guitar with those features. I haven't measured the pickups' outputs, but they sound a bit hotter than typical p-90s and are great for hard rock, which then shift to beautiful sparkling cleans in single coil mode. The single coil output is noticeably lower than the warm humbuckers, as expected, but the clarity and brightness are a welcome option. 3-way pickup selector, the coil splitter is activated by the push-pull tone knob. This came almost perfectly set-up at the factory, no fret buzz except on the high E string, which was easlily fixable by raising the bridge saddle with the hex key, detailed instructions are included. The stock strings are typical of budget guitars, so change them. I tried Ernie Ball 10-52 "skinny top/heavy bottom" for the first time and the bass tone is incredible, but any quality set of your choice will be fine. The locking tuners were new to me but they make string changes fast and easy. Just thread the string through the peg, twist a thumb screw to lock it in, and tune. No wrapping necessary. Under 3 minutes to do a complete string change and tune. The plastic nut is just held by string tension (which is normal) but I'll upgrade to a glued-in bone nut. The frets are smooth, the action light and fairly slick. No intonation issues typical of budget models. It not only sounds great, but the aged Storm Blue and Cream color scheme has a retro feel and works nicely with the roasted maple neck. The blue body has just a hint of glitter (not enough to make it toyish) but it gives a subtle iridescence depending on the light. There are several other colors available: Inferno Burst (orange/red), Obsidian Black (dark gray), Violet Venom (muted purple). The fret markers could be a bit lighter and easier to see, but it might clash with the overall look. Not really an issue. Other configurations and bundles are also available from Aklot but I haven't tried them. As I spent time playing, I noticed how comfortable it is due to the body contours and cutaways. Cheap guitars often minimize contouring as a cost saving, but that often makes higher notes harder to reach and the guitar body can often fit uncomfortably against a rib cage. No issues here while sitting or standing. As if all this wasn't enough, included are a padded gig bag, clip-on tuner, fairly comfy soft nylon strap, 10' shielded cable, cleaning cloth, extra string set (even though they should be upgraded, keep these as backups for broken strings), 2 hex keys for adjustments, picks, song book, and instruction manual. Everything but an amp for $198. ... show more

  • Fair Review
Color: Storm Blue
This is a review for the Tele looking one, in storm blue. bought in Feb 2026. First thing to notice out of the box is the included gigbag, and carepackage, that i didnt even know was included. got a small bag/pouch with extra string set, 3 decent picks, mini tuner, strap, chord, micro fiber cloth, booklet on how to set up, and a brief beginner guitar guide. overall very nice carepackage. Gigbag is of good quality, along with tuner and picks. the chord is very budget, but at least its included/ The guitar is self was wrapped/packaged inside the gigbag, and gigbag was in a cardboard box, and guitar arrived unharmed. After tuning the guitar, first impression is that it needs the action level adjusted, the string sit very high above the frets on the higher parts of the neck, but it plays ok out of the box. the neck feels fine to play up and down, but frets do feel a slight bit not smooth enough, but the fretboard is good. The craftsmanship in regards to the wood of the guitar is great. body is contoured a bit on the back and for the cutaway. and the finish is great. note that its only burst on the front inside the binding, back is dark dark blue. but top looks great with wood showing through nicely. now for the price, this is a great guitar! but the pick ups and the knobs are of low/budget quality. the sounds quality through my small marshall mg15g-u is decent, and imo good for beginners and home practice in general. but this is definitly a place where they chose to go cheap to meet price target. The split coils are a novelty idea. and the guitar sounds weak if not used as humbuckers. and the knob for tone/pull for split coils, basically has to be turned all the way up for a reasonable tone. personally i think the bridge humbucker has the best tone. it is possible that with a much better amp, and more patience in setting up bass/mid/treb, that this guitar could sound better in its different coil selections. overall 4/5 for price meets craftsmanship. and guess you could always buy some seymore duncans and install. ... show more
