abunda_amazon_reviews This is a great microphone for the price! AKG makes them solid. The P420 is a condenser mic that needs phantom power. There is a polar pattern switch for cardioid, omnidirectional or figure 8 and a 0 -20db and bass cut filter switch too. The frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz. There's a gold sputtered diaphragm on one side to prevent shorting to the back electrode. It comes with a nice carrying case and a real shock mount. This microphone gives you many options for different instruments and applications. I use it with other microphones and it works really well. I think it's great on acoustic guitar, drum overheads, vocals or just a room mic just put it in the back of the studio. Of course there are cheaper and more expensive microphones out there, and people will achieve different sounds with the same microphone. It just depends on what it's used for and what's applied to the sound.;;Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2016;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;AKG P420;;Dj Gyulay;;/gp/customer-reviews/R1WT5AFIB8V9EK/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00167UQMI;;;I enjoy the product very much. It gives a very clear sound. My only problem is that upon delivery, they threw my box over the fence (more than likely) since my gate was locked at the time. Would have appreciated if they didn't do that. The case had a few scratches and a slightly dented corner. I was not happy with this. Could have just left it next to the mailbox, or carefully put it inside the fence. Or next time, actually stick to the date of delivery in which I paid extra for. I would have left the gate open. That would've been great. Other than that, my microphone was in tact and everything seems to be functioning well so far, so I can't complain too much. But if someone is willing to pay a lot for great equipment, the service should be great, too.;;Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2018;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Great sound. Delivery was terrible. I give it 3 stars since they both do not work so well. So it's more like a 50/50 review. 1 of them always has a humming which when you touch the microphone on the top the humming goes away. Sounds like a grounding issue right, nope, no matter where its plugged into the humming is there. The other mic sometimes will decide to pick up all sound from every direction, which when using for podcasting with interviews, suddenly the other person on the other microphone will then be heard on this one. Which makes for a difficulty in editing because its echoey due to this one. When they work, they sound great for podcasting, honestly I've had many people say I and the guests sound great. But too much unnecessary post production work to make the audio clean, thankfully I know how, but I shouldn't need too.
