For the price of the Brave 4, the video quality is great. The internal mic sound is horrible. So if you are looking for good sound, don’t count on it from just the camera. I film lots of video projects, and on a current project, need to capture multiple different people talking at the same time, so I tried connecting usb c connector mics I have , both wireless lapel and shotgun, and none worked on the normal usb c that works with any other cameras I have. I contacted Akasko and was told they have it set where only their cable adapter will work (sold by them separately) and they have a single wired lapel mic of their’s that will connect (sold by them separately). Since I need to record more than one person at the same time, I ordered only the adapter, even though Akasko said it may not work using other mics besides theirs. I took a chance and ordered the Brave 4 adapter cable they called “Type C Wireless Mic Adapter” for usb c (side plugs into their camera) to 3.5mm (side would plug into my mics). The cost was around $8 for this adapter and it arrived in about 1 1/2- 2 weeks from first contact email, shipping, and delivery. Now for the how to: -Set the Akasko camera to “external mic” instead of internal. -I plugged my Movo VXR 10 Pro shotgun into the 3.5mm with Movo’s cable for camera to mic cord—-it did NOT work. -So I plugged in Movo’s cable for smartphone to mic cord…this worked! Yayyyy!!! So plug the Movo’s own mic cord into the Movo mics line out side, then plug the other end of the 3.5mm (TRRS) Movo plug labeled for smartphone into the Akasko 3.5 adapter side, plug the usb c side of the Akasko adaptor back into the Brave 4 and enjoy wayyyy better quality speaking sound. The media could not be loaded. Camera in 1080 is good and does the job for quick action clips. Timelapse is definitely my most used feature. The only down is the wifi in the brave 4K it will absolutely not stay connected to iPhone. I always have to download load the card to sd reader. This is the second Brave 4K I sent the first back do to same issue. So must be a lesser model glitch. I can not say about newer models. Over all it's cheap if you get a couple of good clips and post from cool. No sweat when you smash it getting the shot. Like Harbor Freight buy use it break it buy it again. As long as you know you're getting a throw away camera it will not disappoint. Oh all the gadgets work as they should and with Go Pro accessories. ... show more

    • Great Intro Action Cam
If you aren't sure If you want this type of adventure/action camera, this is a great starter camera! I was impressed that it came with a variety of attachments, the waterproof case, 2 batteries (yay), an SD Card (even better), as well as a remote control shutter button. This is a great intro kit that is perfect for anyone. Overall the functionality was pretty simple, and the menu system is intuitive. I think the biggest love about this camera is the front facing screen which makes capturing selfie-style action content so much easier. Upon reviewing the quality of the footage, it can get noisy in lower-light situations, but it has a generally easy time balancing out the settings when going from darker to lighter settings. The 4K at 30fps is good quality, but I personally liked the 1080@120fps better as it was more realistic with movements and actions. overall, this is good to test the waters on to see if you like an action camera before diving into the more expensive system. ... show more
